It’s the day after Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration has ended, and A LOT has already changed in the parks.
Granted, some of the 50th decorations are still up (and we’re not complaining), but some of the snacks are gone forever, AND we’ve already seen changes on the My Disney Experience app. Something else new has also arrived, though: Disney World now has NEW Annual Passholder cards.
The old Annual Passholder cards had a picture of the Fab 50 Mickey Mouse Statue and the Walt Disney World 50 logo on them.
Well, that’s all gone and the new Annual Passholder cards are back to their yellow color scheme (like what we saw BEFORE the 50th anniversary celebration began). Here’s what those cards looked like:
Here’s what the new card looks like. It’s yellow with Mickey’s smiling face in the middle of the “D” for Disney. Similar, but not QUITE the same.
We were able to pick up our new Annual Passholder card today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so if you’re looking to grab one, they are available at Guest Relations.
The new passholder card does NOT have dates on the back, though, and we were told by a Cast Member that we would need to show our Annual Pass in the app AND an ID if we want to use our discount.
If you ARE an Annual Passholder, don’t forget that you’ll be able to visit the parks AFTER 2 PM without a park pass reservation beginning on April 18th. Also, you might want to check out the Annual Passholder discount that’s been released for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel.
We’ll be tracking all the changes happening in Disney World’s post-50th anniversary celebration, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!

Now they want to see 3 things at the registers, card, license id , and the app. This is stupid and just not going to work, they are going to have change this. Nothing but a pain to pull all that out at every register. Very bad move.
