April 3rd is going to be a HUGE day in Disney World.
The 50th Anniversary has been going on for a while and it brought two new fireworks shows with it — Disney Enchantment (Magic Kingdom) and Harmonious (EPCOT). The 50th Anniversary ended on March 31st, though, and a number of things have disappeared because of the celebration’s end. On April 2nd, both Enchantment and Harmonious will have their LAST performances. But the skies won’t be dark for long!
On April 3rd, TWO fireworks shows will be returning to Disney World! Over at Magic Kingdom, Happily Ever After will be coming BACK with some modifications.
Specifically, the show now features projections down Main Street, U.S.A., so consider that when picking where you want to stand to watch.
And be sure to bring your MagicBand+ to catch those lights and haptic vibrations that interact with the show. On its opening night (April 3rd) Happily Ever After will be shown at 9PM.
Want to take your fireworks experience to the next level? Consider booking a fireworks dessert party to add reserved seating and snacks to your night.

But wait, there’s more. Over at EPCOT, EPCOT Forever will return for a limited time on April 3rd. The show honors the past, present, and future of EPCOT will music, fireworks, and special effects. Get ready to dance along to some “veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit” tunes! If you’re a fan of retro EPCOT, this is a show you won’t want to miss for the nostalgic music alone.
On April 3rd, its opening night, the show will be offered at 9PM, so plan accordingly. You can pair your fireworks experience with a dining package at select EPCOT restaurants if you want to secure a good view and enjoy a tasty meal.
Remember that EPCOT Forever will only be back in EPCOT for a limited time though. The show is serving as a temporary placeholder until EPCOT’s NEW fireworks show is finished. The new fireworks show — set to debut at some point by the end of 2023 — is meant to “reflect the commonality in all of us,” and will feature select songs from the Disney songbook as well as an original composition.
And keep in mind that with the end of Harmonious will come the removal of the Harmonious barges. These will be removed in phases, so it could take some time before they’re all gone, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
Until everything is ready for the new show, you can enjoy some classic EPCOT tunes by watching EPCOT Forever. (And remember to check out the permanent new nighttime look on Spaceship Earth.)

And those are the 2 BIG updates you need to keep in mind for next week! If you’re hoping to catch these shows on their re-opening nights, you’ll want to plan ahead. As of the time of the writing of this post, Park Pass reservations are already FULL for Magic Kingdom on April 3rd, but passes are still available for EPCOT.
So if you haven’t already, grab those Park Passes ASAP!
And be prepared for BIG crowds (particularly at Magic Kingdom where many guests have been waiting for Happily Ever After‘s return for a while!).
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the return of both of these shows, so stay tuned for the latest news!
