In case you missed the news, Disney World is about to start selling annual passes again!
Sales have been paused for most pass tiers for quite some time now, but on April 20th, all four pass types will be available to purchase online again. Disney has warned that there are limited quantities, but we already know what the pricing will look like, so you’ve got a little bit of time to plan for that purchase. However, with all this news, there’s one rule we think we should discuss!
When it comes to annual pass purchasing, many people don’t realize you don’t have to use your pass right away! Once you buy a pass, you have 365 days to “activate” it (use it for the first time). So if you want to go ahead and buy your pass on April 20th, but you’re not traveling until October, this rule can work in your favor.
Each annual pass is good for exactly one year, so if you don’t use that pass until October, then the countdown won’t start until then. This means that if you have a trip planned for later this year, you may want to jump on those annual pass sales as soon as they drop on the 20th — otherwise, your desired pass type might sell out and be unavailable at a later date.
We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop once annual passes go on sale, and share all the details. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney World news you need to know.

Does the rule pertaining to 365 days to “activate” an annual pass also apply when renewing an AP?
Brandon says
@DFB
The one question I have not seen the answer to is whether you’ll be able to buy these in Person at Disnry Springs or other AP sales locations.
Thar is Lways the easiest way to do it especially if you are wanting to Use the value of your current to Ketchup to buy the pass.
Brandon says
Donovan Hammer:
No. If you renew, it activates as soon as your current pass expires.

We picked up our DVC Sorcerer Pass yesterday (April 13) for our trip in November. We’ve been waiting to buy admission media, but were getting ready to get at least 1 set of 10-day tickets for a 3-week trip. It’s getting close to beginning of reservations windows, and with Disney, you have to pre-plan EVERYTHING because spontaneity is D-E-A-D.

How do I buy the annual pass. Is there a website for it?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Rochelle! Yes, you will find them here!

Tysm! Question I am not finding anywhere. I will be a FL resident on 5/10…currently I am not. Do I have to buy the Incredipass since I am not currently in FL on 4/20 when they are available? Or can I buy the Sorcerer’s pass and when I go to use this in May… provide my proof of FL residency then? Would save a lot of money if I could get the Sorcerer’s! Thanks.
