There’s a lot of construction happening at the Disney World hotels right now…like a LOT.

We’ve got a new DVC building under construction at the Polynesian Village Resort, room refurbishments happening on multiple buildings at the Grand Floridian, and multiple projects underway at Disney’s BoardWalk, including a new restaurant. But one of the smaller projects happening at the BoardWalk might cause some BIG problems.
For quite a while now, the restrooms near the BoardWalk Inn lobby have been under construction. They’re blocked by small construction partitions and a plastic covering.

There’s also a sign in front of the restrooms noting that the closest bathroom options are either INSIDE Trattoria al Forno or near the Side Show Game Arcade. In order to access either of these restrooms, you’ll have to exit the main part of the hotel, go outside and downstairs, and walk a fair distance.

Why is this a problem? Well, for starters these lobby restrooms are located right next to the Belle Vue Lounge. That means that there aren’t any easily accessible bathrooms for guests dining at that spot.

Also, this could be a big issue for guests checking into the hotel who don’t yet have a room ready. Imagine lugging your bags out the lobby, down a ramp, and across the hotel property just to get to a restroom — especially if you’re trying to use the one INSIDE Trattoria al Forno, that would be a hassle.

So what’s going on? This bathroom renovation is part of a larger makeover at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. The lobby is set to get updates, and the rooms here are currently undergoing a refurbishment as well. We’re definitely excited about some of these upgrades, it would just be nice to have the bathrooms back open soon! Make sure to plan around this issue if you’re going to the BoardWalk soon.

They could check luggage In the lobby and use the facilities without dragging it around.
As much of nuisance this is, if your room is not ready you do not need to lug it with you around the property. You just need to store it with Bell Services. They will keep it and bring it to your room when it’s ready.
Why would you lug your luggage around when you can leave it with bell services?
