The one thing that we love about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is that some of the food and snacks are really quite inventive.
Some of those foods are real standouts, too, like the Ronto Wrap, the Cold Brew Black Caf, Blue Milk, and Kat Saka’s Kettle popcorn. Well, now, a NEW snack has arrived and it may look familiar. That’s because it’s similar to Rey’s bread from Star Wars: A Force Awakens.
The new snack seems to be based on the Polystarch portion bread from A Force Awakens. In that movie, Rey would trade salvage for portions of that bread — it’s also been mentioned in other Star Wars media.
The recipe appeared in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and was made with vegetable oil, wheat flour, instant oats, sugar, baking powder, dry seaweed flakes, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and water. Here’s what it looked like in the movie:
The new snack we found in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is called Polystarch Puffbread, and as you can see, it looks VERY similar to Rey’s bread.
The texture of this was sort of like a croissant on the bottom with a hard cookie-like texture on the top. VERY different. It doesn’t LOOK all that appetizing, but it’s actually quite good.
It was pretty tasty, though. The pastry itself was nice and soft with hints of cinnamon — we’d say its overall flavor was sweet. The top of the bread was flakey. It sort of reminded us of the Mexican sweet bread pan dulce. If this is what Rey was living off of, we don’t blame her!
You can find this sweet snack at The Milk Stand for $5.99. It’s probably one of the more unique Star Wars snacks you can find in the parks, so it’s totally worth picking up and trying for yourself.
This treat hasn’t made its way over to Disney World, so for now, it’s only available in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. However, if it does make its way to Florida, we’ll be sure to let you know.

That’s just a cross between a pan dulce and a croissant. Pistachio muffins look much more similar to the portions.
