We’ve seen quite a few changes at Disneyland Resort recently!
The reimagined Mickey’s Toontown reopened not too long ago, and Paradise Pier Hotel is currently getting some major renovations. But there are also changes happening in Downtown Disney, the shopping and dining complex. And recently, one location there closed!
Sprinkles Cupcakes has permanently closed in Downtown Disney. The former store is no longer listed as a location in the “California” section of the Sprinkles website.
The cupcake shop is a national chain with a variety of locations across the U.S., including one at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World.
They’re known for their iconic “cupcake ATMs” that distribute cupcakes like vending machines. We’ll be interested to see what replaces Sprinkles Cupcakes at Downtown Disney in the future!
We’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Disneyland Resort and news of any more changes coming in the future. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest announcements!

I wonder if the wdw location is heading the same way? When we visited in March the cases were empty, with all the cupcakes stored in the back and cardboards covering the cupcake display. And the cupcake ATM was closed. We had wanted to try sprinkles for ages, but it was so lacklustre we just left without buying…

Yep. Same experience February. Horrible customer service. No selection. Employees had no desire to help anyone. Many were texting in back or talking to friends. This was always a “must stop” for us, but now it is a “definitely avoid”.

They lost me when they stopped accepting cash. I’m not going to charge a cupcake.

I would hardly call a cupcake store a “dining location”.

I tried sprinkles once at their atm in a Las Vegas airport terminal and thought it was good but my daughter hated it. She said their cupcakes stunk. Maybe that’s why they’re closing? 🤔

We always looked forward to going to Sprinkles when we were in Downtown Disney. We loved the cupcakes. That said, the last time we were there in September things were not the same and the cupcakes were not as good. I am sorry they are leaving, but wonder what caused the downfall.
