If you’ve been following along with Disney news for the past few years, then you know that Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Splash Mountain is under construction at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. The updated ride will feature characters and music from The Princess and the Frog, and we’ve seen concept art and models of the attraction…but now we have even MORE details about what we can expect. Including a special surprise hidden in the queue!
UPDATE: Disney has announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open on June 28th, 2024! There will be previews for some people, like Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and DVC members.
One of Disney’s goals when putting together Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is to pay homage to New Orleans culture as much as possible. And what’s more New Orleans than some fresh beignets?! If the smell of that delicious fried dough is as tempting to you as it is to us, then you’ll be happy to know that the scent will be pumped into the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue.
That means that while you’re waiting in line, you can SMELL the allure of the Mardi Gras celebration you’re about to attend. Now that’s some intense theming right there!
Thankfully, once you make it through the ride, you’ll be able to purchase beignets at New Orleans Square in Disneyland to fix the inevitable craving. You can currently buy beignets in Magic Kingdom as well and we’re hoping they stick around!
We’ll make sure to keep you updated with any more news about this upcoming ride, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest. We can’t wait to see what the finished project looks like!

Please bring beignets to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom so we can get one when we get off the ride!

Lol, if they’re gonna pump the scent in the queue, I think they should give riders at least a free sample because I’m sure that’ll make people hungry!!

Love New Orleans. Love Beignets. Still hate that Disney is doing this.
