Disney Springs has tons of restaurants, so choosing a spot to eat can feel daunting.
From fresh, authentic Spanish cuisine to Irish eats with plenty of lively entertainment, Disney Springs has it all. But today, I’m headed to Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill to see if it was good as I remembered. Care to join me?
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is a table service location in the Town Center section of Disney Springs. This spot is conveniently located — not far from the Orange Garage and the AMC Theater — so you could easily have dinner and a movie. It is known for the Chef’s California cuisine and was meant to “modernize the traditional bar and grill.” Right outside, you’ll also find a walk-up window with an assortment of Gelato and other treats. Today, I stopped by for an early lunch. Let’s dive in.
Atmosphere
At first glance, you’ll notice how modern the building looks. A little industrial with pops of red…
…and right outside, I checked in at the host stand.
Since I went for an early lunch, it was pretty quiet. Inside, the dining room is beautiful and open, with natural wood elements and pops of red leather seating. Traditional farmhouse touches and striking light fixtures catch your eye as you walk through the room.
The main open kitchen is towards the back of the restaurant if you like to have a view of the chefs at work.
The red leather seating really added a lot of character to the space.
There was also a collection of various-sized tables.
I was seated at one of the red booths/table combos, and the table was set with a cloth napkin, silverware, and stemless glasses.
The server promptly arrived with water and an introduction to the restaurant. This scratch kitchen makes everything fresh, the beef is all prime, the seafood is all wild-caught, and the pizza is freshly tossed and cooked in a wood-fired oven.
The dining room is full of natural light and has a warm, cozy feel to enjoy a meal, without feeling stuffy.
Menu
I was given three menus: a drinks menu, a regular lunch menu, and a special pre-fixe menu. On the drinks menu, you’ll find a selection of hand-crafted cocktails, sangria, cider, beer, and mocktails.
For cocktails, there are some Moana-inspired options like the Kakamora’s Dart and the Tamatoa’s Revenge. You’ll also find some handcrafted sangria, High Noons, and a selection of beer.
If you’re looking for something nonalcoholic, they also have a small selection of mocktails, like the Passionfruit Smash and the Ginger-Lime Iced Tea.
On the main menu, there is a selection of appetizers and salads, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and entrees.
For pizza, you can choose between Wild Mushroom, Margherita, Fennel Sausage, Pepperoni, Bianca, BBQ Chicken, or Smoked Salmon. The sandwich menu has options like a Cuban Sandwich, Tandoori Chicken Wrap, and Oven Roasted Turkey.
For appetizers, there are some classics like Bruschetta, Crispy Calamari, and Maryland Crab Cakes. Pasta options include Spaghetti, Rigatoni, and Fettucini and for an entree, you can choose between options like the Scottish Salmon, Chicken Schnitzel, and the Mesquite Grilled New York Strip.
Lastly, there was a pre-fixe specials menu that allows you to choose a First Course, Second Course, and Dessert for $39 per person.
I chose a few things from the main lunch menu, so let’s take a look!
Eats
For an appetizer, I got the Roasted Meatballs for $12, which were served with tomato sauce, basil, and ricotta cheese.
These are made with four types of meat: beef, pork sausage, pancetta, and soppressata. The meatballs themselves were tender and flavorful, but nothing that blew me away. However, the flavors in the dish as a whole were really spectacular.
The tomato sauce was warm, garlicky, and a little salty — with a surprise addition of Castelvetrano olives (an uncured, mild Italian olive with a meatier texture than most). I love Castelvetrano olives, so this added a ton of welcome buttery-sweet flavor. But, keep in mind you can ask for it without them if you’re not a fan!
The basil on top added a nice freshness to the dish, and the ricotta was high-quality, decadently creamy, and paired perfectly with the acidity from the tomato sauce.
For entrees, I decided to order the Wild Mushroom Pizza for $18 and the Salmon Burger for $19.
The Wild Mushroom Pizza is topped with Fontina cheese, roasted garlic, and marjoram.
This has a garlic sauce base rather than a tomato sauce, so it was a little bit lighter tasting. However, it packed a ton of flavor. The mushrooms are marinated in a pine-nut pesto & have a nice, complex flavor — nutty and a little sweet. They also had a meaty texture that made the pizza surprisingly hearty considering it wasn’t heavily sauced.
The fontina cheese was sweet, buttery, and a little pungent, and it held up nicely with the bold-tasting mushrooms. The dough was fresh, light, and had good flavor — but it was soft and flexible, so if you are looking for a sturdier crust, this might not be for you. Overall, the flavors in this dish were really delicious, but depending on the type of crust you like, this could be a hit or a miss.
Lastly, I ordered the Salmon Burger, which comes with avocado, butter lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, and tartar sauce. Sounds pretty simple, right?
Wrong. Y’all, this was AMAZING. The salmon they use to make these patties (in-house, by the way) is the same fresh, wild-caught salmon they use for their filets — they are just the pieces that are too small to serve by themselves. These are full of this sushi-grade salmon that made a wonderfully juicy, tender, and super fresh patty. It had a delicious bold salmon flavor as well as a strong hint of garlic, and the edges had a beautiful crunchy texture that I couldn’t get enough of. On the bottom were a creamy tartar sauce and some capers that gave the sandwich an amazing depth of flavor.
On top of the salmon patty were some fresh and crispy veggies: delicate butter lettuce, crunchy red onion with a spicy kick, and a fat slice of tomato. The avocado on top was buttery and perfectly ripe. There were also some sweet pickles on top that balanced with the onions nicely. The bread was fresh and had a nice crisp to it, so it held up to all of the ingredients really well.
The fries were pretty good but unfortunately didn’t blow me away. They were served hot and fresh and were satisfying, but overall there wasn’t anything really special about them.
I love salmon, so this was a perfect lunch option for me— but it did have a lot of strong salmon flavor, so if you’re not a huge fan of seafood, this might not be for you.
Overall
Overall, I was super impressed with how fresh everything tasted. There were a few items that stood out more than others (hello, Salmon Burger 🤩), but I didn’t have any bad dishes here.
I also enjoyed the overall vibe at this location, as well. The decor was beautiful, and the open kitchen concept was fun if you enjoy that kind of thing. However, this made it a little noisy, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a quieter spot. I also had great service — the server was attentive and very knowledgeable (and without her suggestion, I wouldn’t have gotten that amazing burger!). I enjoyed lunch here, and think it’s a great spot if you find yourself looking for a meal in Disney Springs.
Nosh or Not?
Head to Disney Springs for a meal at Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill if…
- You’re looking for a quick, high-quality lunch that won’t weigh you down. This is a nice spot to get some comforting food that isn’t super heavy. While the portions were generous, the food itself wasn’t too rich to enjoy on a hot summer afternoon.
- You like to watch your food being prepared. Between the open kitchen in the back, and the wood-fired grill in the front, you have a few options where you get to see the chefs hand-craft your lunch at this spot.
- You love fresh, California and Meditteranian-inspired food. All of the food I had here focused on fresh ingredients and was done really well, simply.
Skip this spot and choose another one of the many options in Disney Springs if…
- You’re looking for a quiet, romantic meal. This place is fun and has some great food options, but if you’re looking for a quieter way to celebrate you might want to keep looking.
- You need something a little more kid-friendly. This is in Disney World, and kids are welcome here — but there isn’t any kid-forward theming here, and the noise might be an issue.
- You aren’t planning on spending time in Disney Springs. If your trip doesn’t include a stop here, it might not make sense to come to Disney Springs for this location alone. If you love California-inspired eats with fresh ingredients, it might be worth it for you, but otherwise, you might want to skip it.
