Disney has dropped some BIG Halloween news today, but we’ve got some more updates that you’ll want to know if you’re visiting the parks soon!
We just learned that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will return in 2023, with parties on select nights from August 11th through November 1st. Tickets go on sale on May 2nd, so set your alarms, because some nights are going to sell out quickly! However, there’s a way to celebrate the spooky season in Disney World EARLY, with a new secret menu item in Magic Kingdom!
Disney is celebrating Halfway to Halloween right now, which means lots of themed snacks and treats throughout the parks.
We’ve already tried a new snack at Gideon’s Bakehouse, and we know where to find the Donald Duck Candy Corn Sipper as well. So are you ready to hear about a SECRET Halloween treat in the parks?
The Halfway to Halloween celebration is themed to the Haunted Mansion this year, so head over to the Kernel Kitchen inside the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom and whisper the phrase “Doom Buggie” to the Cast Members there in order to access the secret menu item.
This item is a Haunted Mansion caramel popcorn mix!
The popcorn mix is caramel popcorn layered with Twix candies, crushed Oreos, and M&Ms, and it’s all topped with a milk chocolate drizzle. The M&Ms are black, green, and white, a color scheme that nods to the Haunted Mansion ride.
We tried out this mix a little bit early at a media event, and we thought it was super tasty! It’s made with ingredients that are available at the Kernel Kitchen year-round, so it’s not a super exciting or unique snack, but we liked the combination of all the different candies with the salty popcorn. We also really liked that it was served in a bowl instead of a bag (most of the popcorn mixes here are served in a bag).
You can get this mix at the Confectionery from April 20th through May 4th for $15.99. And don’t forget to check out more of the limited-time snacks in Disney World for the Halfway to Halloween event.
