Halloween may seem like it’s a long way away, but it’ll be here before we know it!
As we know, tickets for special events can go QUICK when it comes to the Disney parks, so if you’re as excited about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returning in 2023 as we are, then you’ll need to know WHEN these highly coveted tickets will go on sale!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially returning for 2023! The 2023 event will take place from August 11th through November 1st. Disney announced that tickets for the event will go on sale SOON, on May 2nd. However, some people will be able to buy tickets EARLY. Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can purchase these special event tickets beginning April 27th, 2023!
Set your alarms, because it’s possible that certain dates (like Halloween night) will sell out quickly.
Back in 2022, dates started to sell out for the party as early as August 1st, and the event was completely sold out by mid-September.
It’s important to note that this party is a separately ticketed event, so you must have a specific Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket in order to get in. A regular Magic Kingdom park ticket will NOT get you entry to this event.
With an event ticket, you can get inside Magic Kingdom a few hours before the party begins (at 4PM), but if you want to be in Magic Kingdom all day and then go to the party that night, you’ll need both a Magic Kingdom park ticket and a party ticket. If you just want to attend the party, you do NOT need a Magic Kingdom park ticket or a park pass reservation.
The party takes place from 7PM to midnight, with guests able to enter the park at 4PM. It doesn’t happen every night — only select nights between August 11th and November 1st will have the party.
The party includes trick-or-treating around Magic Kingdom (with Cast Members handing out free candy), seasonal treats and merchandise throughout the park, and a special fireworks show towards the end of the evening.
You’re welcome to come dressed in a costume for the event, and the Boo-To-You Parade is an absolute must-see. In 2022, there was a Hocus Pocus-themed show on the Cinderella Castle stage, and Jack Skellington hosts the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show. Lots of Disney characters attend the event, and many of them come dressed in their Halloween costumes!
One of the best parts about this party, though, is that you can get on lots of rides and attractions with a lower wait time than you’d usually see. Most rides stayed open for the party in 2022, including some fan favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain (which had a Halloween-themed layover!). Be sure to stop by Haunted Mansion, where unique characters can often be spotted talking with guests in the queue.
You might be wondering “What about TRON Lightcycle / Run?” This coaster opened in April of this year, so it was not available for the Halloween party last year. This attraction WILL be part of the party this year. Disney’s website says that TRON Lightcycle / Run will be open with Virtual Queue Access Only. The site recommends that visitors “check back for information on how to join the virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.”
This is a popular event, so we recommend getting your tickets ASAP, especially if you want to go around Halloween time.

Hi guys! I hoping you’ll be able to answer this to help me with my timing and planning of our next Disney trip.
I was wondering if you knew what time Magic Kingdom will be closing for its guests without party tickets? Also are the fireworks displays being put on for day guests who are not attending the party?
I would love to take my family into it but as a family of 5 looking to go in October, I’m not sure I can justify the close to $1,000 for party tickets!!

Thanks for the update, we really appreciate all you do. I’m wondering what “select Walt Disney World Resorts” means?
If Bay Lake Tower counts, how will we know? This seems unnecessarily vague, lol.

Hi Tamara. All Disney resorts are included as well as Shades of Green and Swan & Dolphin.
