There is so much to see in Disney World, that it can feel like you’ll never be able to narrow down your must-do list.
There are seasonal snacks to try, new restaurants to get reservations for, and new rides to experience. With all of these suggestions of things you “should” do, you might be wondering about the things you should AVOID doing while you’re in Disney World. Don’t worry: we’re here to help! Here are a bunch of things you should definitely NOT do on your next Disney trip.
Forget To Grab Park Pass Reservations
Disney’s Park Pass Reservation System was introduced as a safety measure after the parks reopened in 2020. In order to limit capacity, guests now have to make a reservation for the park they wish to visit. The purchase of 1-Day, 1-Park Tickets now includes the reservation needed for that day, but all other types of tickets require guests to make these reservations separately.
Don’t take making these reservations lightly! Disney World has a lot going on right now, so Park Pass Reservations can fill up. Between the return of Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom, Star Wars Day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and tons of other events going on around the parks — reservations do fill up, and you don’t want to be caught without one during your trip.

Eat Disappointing Food
Disney has a lot of great dining options that can really make a good trip, but not every restaurant is perfect for every family. We are constantly trying the food throughout the parks to make sure our readers have as much information as possible to plan for their trips. So, there are tons of resources on our site to find the RIGHT dining locations for you.
Disney can be expensive, so don’t come unprepared! You don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on something that doesn’t end up being your cup of tea. We have lists of some of the most well-loved eats in all the parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (As a bonus, we also know where all the best food is in Disney Springs — click here!)
Make sure to take a peek at some of your options beforehand so you’re not stuck buying something you don’t love while you’re there. And don’t forget our DFB Guide is a great way to get a game plan for tasty food on your trip!

Get in Line During Peak Wait Times
There are a lot of Disney rides with a ton of hype. That means wait times can get scary — Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had a wait time of over FIVE hours earlier this year. But, these attractions don’t typically stay insanely high all day long.
We have noticed a bit of a trend, for example, with Rise of the Resistance getting lower wait times near the end of the park day. While that is a little bit of a risky plan (you can’t guarantee that it will slow down later in the day, or that it will even be open when you try!), there are some things you can do to lessen your wait times.
You can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry (with participating hotels) to try to get on these rides before all of the other guests can enter the park for the day. And on particularly busy days, it might make sense to purchase Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lanes to avoid these long waits.
See our complete guide to Genie+ here.
Skip the “Boring” Attractions
Finally, don’t forget to give some attention to the less-hyped attractions. TRON Lightcycle / Run might be new and shiny, but there are tons of amazing things to do in Disney World that don’t draw as big of a crowd. Is the Florida heat getting to you after walking around EPCOT’s World Showcase? Why not give Awesome Planet a try? You’ll be able to watch a beautiful “on-screen exploration of the realm we call home” in an air-conditioned room with comfortable seats. Sounds appealing in our book!
Tired of all the crowds in Magic Kingdom? It can get pretty intense! Duck into the Hall of Presidents for a relaxing, air-conditioned presentation of the story of the nations founding.
Not all of these less popular attractions are for everyone, but there are probably some hidden attractions you’re not considering that you might actually love! Make sure you don’t overlook these — going full speed the entire time can end up taking a bigger toll on your trip than you realize.
There is so much potential in a Disney World vacation, but being unprepared can lead to less-than-ideal situations. Knowing what to AVOID can really make or break your trip, so come prepared! Want to know more things you SHOULDN’T do in Disney World? Check out this DFB video!
