So much food, so little time. But we still MAKE the time when it comes to new Disney snacks.
We were pretty excited to try all the Star Wars-themed snacks recently, and we even sampled some new Guardians of the Galaxy-themed treats. Soon, we’ll be indulging in a few new Mother’s Day desserts, too. But in the meantime, we’re checking out the latest round of treats to make their way to Disneyland.
Peach Cobbler Sundae
Over at Golden Horseshoe, you can get a new seasonal treat, the Peach Cobbler Sundae, for $8.49. It’s made with Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Warm Cooked Peaches and Crumble Topping. Y’all — the warm, sweet peaches topped with that rich vanilla ice cream was a HOME RUN. These flavors together make the perfect sundae for summer.
The whipped cream (and there was a LOT of it) also added to the sweetness of this treat, while the crumble topping gave it a bit of texture PLUS a little bit of a cookie-like flavor.
If you love the taste of peach cobbler but want something cold and refreshing, you’ll want to try this one out.
Tropical Funnel Cake Fries
Alright, let’s park hop over to Disney California Adventure to Award Wieners, where a new seasonal snack is available. The Tropical Funnel Cake Fries for $9.49 are topped with Pineapple and Cherry Compote, Whipped Topping, Toasted Coconut Shavings, and a Cherry.
These taste like fruit punch funnel cake — and we’re not mad about it. The funnel fries are warm and sweet, as always. But that pineapple and cherry compote soaks into those fries and gives them a super nice fresh and fruity flavor. We only got a hint of the coconut flavor from the shavings, though.
Overall, we’d recommend giving these a try!
Brave Little Mickey Shake
At Schmoozies, we picked up the Brave Little Mickey Shake for $12.99. It’s a Blueberry Honey Shake with Whipped Topping and Creme-filled Chocolate Cookies, dusted with Green Sugar, and topped with a Chocolate Feather.
Unfortunately, this shake did NOT meet the mark for us. It didn’t taste bad necessarily, but our reporter was not a fan of the mix of flavors here. The blueberry flavor was really strong (perhaps overly so) and it tasted more artificial than fresh (not ideal).
Plus, every sip of the shake had a distinctly honey-flavored aftertaste. Had the blueberry flavor been more “natural,” we think this could have been better.
But, if you don’t mind an artificial blueberry flavor, really like honey, and are looking for a cute snack to take photos with, this could be a good fit for you (it just wasn’t for us!).
Spicy Chile Cheese Churro
A Spicy Chile Cheese Churro? Yep, that’s the final snack we tried at Willie’s Churros for $6.75. We’ve had a lot of sweet churros, but this one is QUITE different. This is a Churro dusted with Crushed Spicy Cheese Chips and Chile-Lime Sugar dressed with Nacho Cheese Sauce and Crushed Spicy Cheese Chips. You can’t make this up, folks.
Honestly, this churro SHOCKED US — in a good way. We liked it way more than we expected. The flavors were balanced really well, so nothing was too overpowering. The first bite makes you think it’s going to be just a normal churro, but then you get the spiciness and cheesiness of those other flavors. The Chile-Lime Sugar adds a refreshing hint of flavor, too.
If you’re averse to spicy foods, this does have a BIT of a kick, but we didn’t think it was TOO hot. This is one of those “so weird that it works” snacks we’ll be talking about for DAYS.
Cosmic Disturbance Churro
Over at Terran Treats, we also tried the Cosmic Disturbance Churro for $6.75. It’s made with freeze-dried Skittles, bite-sized candies, popping candy, and blue curacao-flavored drizzle.
Our actual churro was unfortunately pretty dry and hard, but we enjoyed the sour and sweet balance of the other flavors. We didn’t notice any popping candy on ours, however. If you’re not a fan of sweet and sour treats, we’d say skip this one, but otherwise, give it a try!
Whew — after all that eating, you’d think we were exhausted, and well, you may be right. But we’ll be back soon with even MORE Disney food reviews, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
