Here at DFB, we’re experts on the BEST ride seats in Disney World.
We know that the back row of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the wildest, that requesting section B1 on Soarin’ will get you the best view, and that well…there really IS no good seat on Kali River Rapids (may the odds be ever in your favor to stay dry!). But what about the Walt Disney World Railroad? Well, we’ve got a tip for that classic Disney ride as well!
The Walt Disney World Railroad travels a circle around Magic Kingdom with stops at stations on Main Street, U.S.A., in Frontierland, and in Fantasyland. You can get on and off at any of the stations, but if you have a chance to pick seats freely…we have a recommendation.
We’ve found that while sitting near the front of the train may seem like fun, it’s probably not going to be the best if you want to hear the in-ride audio! In the first two train cars, it can be difficult to hear the conductor’s voiceover over the sound of the engine chugging and the whistle blowing.
This becomes incredibly difficult when the train travels through the tunnel under TRON Lightcycle / Run. There, the sounds of the engine echo in the enclosed space, so you’ll likely miss the cool TRON-themed audio.
So next time you ride the Walt Disney World Railroad, make sure that you don’t sit too close to the front so that you can hear what’s going on. Our favorite place to sit is actually in the middle of the train so you can get a nice view as you pull into each station!
