Why You Should AVOID Disney World in March 2024

If you’re planning a Disney World trip for March of 2024, be WARNED.

During that month, we often see the impact of early Spring Break trips, the start of the Flower & Garden Festival in EPCOT, and other exciting things. And while concern about Spring Break crowds might be enough to make you stay away from Disney World during that time, there’s one BIG reason why you might want to make some adjustments in your plans and AVOID Disney World in March of 2024.

2024 Disney World vacations are now available to book (though the booking process came with its own set of complications). With the release of 2024 vacation bookings, we got to look at the 2024 Disney World ticket prices, and they revealed some interesting things.

A number of tickets will be MORE expensive (at least in terms of starting price) for various dates in 2024 when compared to 2023 (while others will be cheaper or have remained the same). And while you might expect increases on big days like Christmas or New Year’s Eve, there’s been an important change in March.

Many months in 2024 saw a mix of ticket price increases and decreases (as well as some dates where the starting ticket price remained the same). But March was an interesting exception because it is the one month in 2024 where the starting ticket price is MORE EXPENSIVE on every single day of the month compared to 2023. 😱

March 1st – $149+ in 2023, $154+ in 2024 INCREASE

Some of the dates at the end of the month even fall into the new high starting price for tickets — $164+.

Now, keep in mind that this is just a change in terms of the starting ticket prices for 1-day, 1-park tickets. The cost of 1-day, 1-park tickets is park-specific now, and the starting ticket price typically only reflects the cost of a ticket to visit the cheapest park of the day (typically Disney’s Animal Kingdom).

The starting ticket price has increased for every day in March, but that doesn’t exactly tell us what the ticket prices may be for the the more expensive parks on each day (typically Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom). It’s possible that prices for these parks have ALSO increased on many of those days, or that they have stayed relatively the same compared to 2023.

The key here is to know that at least the starting prices for tickets in March are MORE expensive in 2024 than they were in 2023. That might mean that your trip will cost more next year. Be sure to take a look at the dates on which you were planning to visit, see exactly what the ticket prices are for those dates, and evaluate whether that will require you to make any adjustments to your budget.

You should expect to pay more for tickets in March 2024 compared to 2023, but look carefully at your proposed trip dates/parks to get the exact numbers!
