We made it, y’all! Summer is finally here. Well, summer technically starts in a few weeks, but the vibes are there. 😉

For many of you, school is no longer in session, your evenings may be spent grilling outside, and some of you may even be lucky enough to be planning a summer trip to Disney World! If you’re headed on your summer vacation soon and are looking for some delicious eats, you’re in luck. Disney announced some NEW treats for the summer season and we tried some to see if they’re worth it. Alright, who’s ready to eat?

We tried TWO new summer items that have landed at a few of the resorts — specifically, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Grab your (imaginary) forks, because it’s time to dig in.

Cuban Burger — Everything POP Shopping and Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort

For $13.49 at Everything POP Shopping and Dining, you can grab the Cuban Burger, which is made with Ham, Pickled Pepper Relish, Provolone, and Dijonnaise on a Toasted Brioche Bun served with French Fries. We were SUPER excited to try this one.

Well, it did NOT disappoint. This burger was seriously delicious. The mustard and pickle flavors worked well together, and the crunchy pickles added some great texture to an otherwise soft/chewy burger.

The ham added a deeper, more savory flavor to the burger that you wouldn’t get with just a beef patty alone. The cheese was nice and melty and held the burger together very well. OH, and since it was all made to order, everything was piping hot and super fresh. 

Although the bun did get a bit soggy, we didn’t really care. And the burger patty itself is really just your standard Disney burger, but the toppings elevated the flavors so much!

We recommend this burger to anyone who loves mustard, pickles, or Cuban sandwiches. Plus, note that this burger is BIG, which can be great for those looking for a savory and filling meal.

If you aren’t a fan of those flavors or want something lighter, then perhaps it’s time to move on to another snack…

Summer Berry Shortcake — Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Sometimes nothing says summer like a good berry-flavored dessert! The Summer Berry Shortcake at Gasparilla Island Grill could be just the thing if you love sweet treats. It’s priced at $5.99.

This is a moist vanilla sponge cake, with blueberry compote, strawberries, and Chantilly cream on top. This cake is one of the BEST treats we’ve had!

The berries were fresh and just sweet enough, the cake was light and fluffy, and the cream on top was lightly sweetened and so smooth. We really felt that the cream complimented the rest of the cake well. Overall, it delivered on those summery flavors and is a great value for the cost.

We had absolutely NO complaints about this treat. If you love sweet desserts, strawberry shortcakes, or fruit, this is a MUST-TRY.
