Summer has officially arrived in Disney World, and, well, the crowds situation has been…a bit weird.
We have also seen a rise in Genie+ prices — but nothing like what we saw during Spring Break. Now that summer HAS arrived in Disney World, we’ve been keeping an eye on park pass reservations. Here’s the thing, though — we usually see park pass reservations completely sell out AT LEAST in and around the 4th of July, but this summer — well, something is different.
In May 2022, we had already seen park pass reservations COMPLETELY GONE for the 4th of July for Magic Kingdom. It makes sense because Magic Kingdom does a few special things for the holiday, including the special fireworks show “Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.
This year, though, already seems different. So let’s take a look at park pass availability over the next few months. The month of June is completely open for all four parks for both guests with theme park tickets and select resort hotels.
July also has complete availability for both groups of guests. That includes the 4th of July, which — we have to say — is unexpected.
August is also completely open for all four parks for guests.
So what about Disney World Annual Passholders? Well, for those with an Incredi Pass or Sorcerer Pass, all three months are completely available at every park. That includes the 4th of July.
Those with a Pirate Pass just have blockout dates in July from July 1st-4th. Again, that’s not too surprising.
Pixie Dust Passholders have the usual weekend and holiday blockout dates, including July 1st-4th.
So what’s going on? Well, it seems that either Disney World has increased capacity (meaning there are more park pass reservations available on July 4th) or the demand for the 4th of July this year isn’t as great as it was last year. We’ve previously predicted that Disney World may see fewer visitors this summer, so maybe this isn’t as unexpected as we originally thought.
However, we will continue to keep an eye on park pass reservations, particularly for the 4th of July, and let you know if anything changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Why are there so many empty hotel rooms in Disney World in 2023? Guests in 2021-2022 whether they were Vacation Club Members or Revenge Vacationers paid THE HIGHEST PRICES EVER FOR EVERYTHING IN DISNEY World. They lost all free perks and had to pay for Genie Plus and Individual Attractions. Word spread quickly what Disney had done to make up for their losses due to the Pandemic. It may still not help Disney in 2023 even with lower prices on Hotels, Park Entry, Food. Angry Guests know that Disney Only reduces prices when they have EMPTY HOTEL ROOMS AND AS A RESULT EMPTY PARKS AND RESTAURANTS. SHAME ON YOU DISNEY. Your guests have responded in 2023 about your Greed in 2021-2022. And let’s not forget the perks that at one time we’re FREE but now are replaced with The Genie Plus and The Lightning Lane.
