Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will celebrate its 35th anniversary on July 1, 2023!
There are many things to experience at this deluxe resort, one of them being the multiple restaurants that are offered. However, not every restaurant is currently open. 1900 Park Fare is closed and has been for quite some time. So will this restaurant reopen? Here’s what we know.
In 2015, Bob Chapek was Vice President of the Parks & Resorts division and felt that the Grand Floridian was not up to standards. The comparisons to a Four Seasons didn’t befit the current state of Walt Disney World, and so it was no longer suitable as the flagship resort. But rather than shift focus to another resort hotel, the company decided to make changes.
The major overhaul of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort began in 2019 with the Enchanted Rose Lounge, which replaced Mizner’s Lounge. It was given a “Beauty and the Beast” theme.
Then, in 2021, Cítricos followed with a new “Mary Poppins”-inspired design. When the Grand Floridian Spa reopened in January 2022, it was revealed that it, too, had been remodeled. All the rooms of the resort are still being updated, and some “Mary Poppins” theming has been added throughout guest buildings.
Two of the dining locations that still have yet to reopen from the 2020 closure are both located in the Grand Floridian Resort — 1900 Park Fare and the Garden View Tea Room.
Disney hasn’t released any information on the status of when or if we can expect these locations to reopen, but given the historical trend of refurbishments and updates, when and if they do reopen, they’ll likely have a bit of a facelift.
1900 Park Fare was a character dining table-service meal, and we hope to see that aspect return when it reopens. We’re expecting to see some Mary Poppins aspects as well, to match the theme of the rest of the resort, but nothing’s for sure right now.

I have been waiting for that tea room to open back up! At least we will have a place to go to tea later this year and more convenient as we stay at Beach Club but have missed the OG tea room!
Fred says
Eat there with the ugly sisters and lady Tremaine as characters. Was brilliant, food was good too
Joni says
Miss the tea room, but I bet with the new Cake Bake Shop now I doubt it will reopen.
Also bring back 1900 Park Fare

It bewilders & angers me that Disney is so secretive about plans that we all know they have. 1900 Patk Fare & Garden Tea are 2 of our favorite locations, & knowing their planned reopen dates would sure make it easier to plan our itinerary for later this year…ESPECIALLY if they would open the reservation ques for use at our 60-day point. I can’t imagine why the secrecy….

Loved 1900 Park Faire. Hope it reopens soon.
Not at all impressed with Beauty and the Beast bar.
Have the live musicians returned?

I don’t think we will be getting 1900 Park Fare or Garden View Tea Room any time soon. I looked at the 2024 Dining Plan restaurant lists, and they are both missing… not that the Tea Room qualified anyways…. I do think the tea room will re-open at some point. The Cake Shop isn’t an owned/operated by Disney location, meaning if Disney sees a demand, they will likely open their own version…. and prior to Covid, Tea was offered in 3 locations on property (Beach Club, Grand Floridian, and Rose&Crown). I also think staffing has contributed to the re-opening delay….
