A lot has changed in Disney World, and even more changes are on the way.
A new ride recently opened in Magic Kingdom. New restaurants are coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney Springs. Splash Mountain has closed forever to be reimagined into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — and as a result, the My Disney Experience app has changed.
So the change we’re seeing is one we’ve already seen on the Magic Kingdom park map. That map now shows Tiana’s Bayou Adventure where Splash Mountain used to be with “Coming 2024” underneath it.
Well, now you can see that change on the My Disney Experience app. If you look at the map of Magic Kingdom, it now says “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Coming 2024!” Previously, this area just showed the attraction with no ride label on it.
If you miss Splash Mountain or want to celebrate the new ride, you should check out our DFB t-shirts! We have a Splash Mountain Farwell Tour shirt…
…and a Tiana tee as well!
You can shop both tees (and lots of other Disney merch) at our online store.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be an attraction inspired by Disney’s animated movie The Princess and the Frog. Visitors who ride the attraction will see some familiar characters from that movie (voiced by their original actors) including Tiana, Prince Naveen, Mama Odie, and Louie. A total of 17 characters will make up the ride, including a few new animal musicians.Â
The ride will pick up after the events of The Princess and the Frog while Tiana is growing her business, Tiana’s Foods. She’s bought and transformed an old salt mine with the help of her husband, family, and friends, and now the land around the mine has been renewed, and now Tiana grows vegetables, herbs, and spices there for her recipes.
Grammy Award-Winning musician PJ Morton, who is also the keyboardist for Maroon 5, will be creating a new original song for the ride. Grammy-Award Winning Artist Terence Blanchard, who played all of the trumpet parts for Louis the Alligator in The Princess and the Frog, is also making music for the ride.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open in Disney World in 2024. We’ve been keeping up with the construction progress of the project, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
