One of the best ways to experience a theme park in Disney World is to attend an After Hours event.
Those who purchase tickets to these special After Hours events get to spend time in the parks with fewer crowds (as the tickets are limited), shorter lines, free snacks and beverages, and more. One of the most popular After Hours events happens in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but if you were thinking about attending that one, you’re probably out of luck.
That’s because EVERY single After Hours event in Hollywood Studios has now sold out. So if you were hoping to score tickets for one of these, they are not available (remember these are limited -capacity events).
So why are these so popular? Well, let’s talk about what an After Hours event is like. As we mentioned, they are limited capacity, so it’s a chance to experience Hollywood Studios at a time when you can literally walk onto popular rides like Rise of the Resistance and Tower of Terror with little to no wait.
The event starts at 9:30PM and ends at 12:30AM, but guests can enter the park as early as 7PM, so they get 5 1/2 hours in the park. Ticket prices range by date and usually run anywhere from $139 to $149, although Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can get a discount.
Ticket holders can also enjoy ice cream novelties (like Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bars), popcorn, and select bottled beverages for free during the event. Additionally, some other dining spots remain open throughout the event if guests want to purchase meals and more snacks.
An extra Wonderful World of Animation show is also offered. Regular guests generally get to see the show at 9PM, but After Hours ticket holders can watch it at 11:45PM — so basically, you could have a chance to see the show TWICE.
The same goes with the Disney Movie Magic show, which will have its regular performance at 8:40PM, with an After Hours performance at 11:25PM.
Although the After Hours events for Hollywood Studios are sold out, tickets are still available for the EPCOT After Hours events, which run through August. We recommend grabbing those tickets as soon as you can, though, because as we’ve seen, these events DO sell out.

This has nothing to do with After Hours Events, but I just wanted to let you know about Voyage of the Little Mermaid show. A couple of months ago as I was visiting Hollywood Studios for the umteenth time, I asked a cast member about it reopening and was told it’s a third party show so it may never come back. Thanks for listening and doing your blog, I read everyone of them!!!

Karen, very sad news about the Voyage for the Little Mermaid, This show has been shut down for quite some time. Truely a favorite.
