Not all Disney World snacks are created equally — trust us, we’ve tried them all.
But, if you want your pick of the most iconic (and photo-worthy) treats, there’s only one place to go: Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Confectionery, of course! You might have a hard time choosing just what to get, but we think we may be able to help you out with that.
Main Street Confectionery is home to all things Disney sweets and treats, and it’s a must-do on our list every time we’re in Magic Kingdom. But, how do you know just which snacks to get? That’s where we come in — and we’re bringing you our definitive ranking of every snack in the Main Street Confectionery Case!
Pretzel Rods
We’re kicking things off with the bottom of our list, and unfortunately, that means it’s time to talk about the lowly Pretzel Rod. This candy-clad, chocolate-dipped salty snack is pricy for what you get — $5 for a single pretzel rod is a little steep if you ask us.
While they may be a decent snack for on the go, there are plenty of other iconic Disney snacks that are more worth your time and money. If you’re really craving a giant pretzel stick, chances are you can find one at your local grocery store and it will cost a lot less!
Cake Pops
These ain’t no Starbucks cake pops — that’s for sure. In our experience, these tend to be on the dry side, kind of like a chalky brownie. They’re pretty expensive for the size of the treat, and they’re harboring a dirty little secret.
If you’re expecting a cake pop the whole way through this treat, you might be sorely disappointed. We’ve gone to take a bite out of one of the ears before only to find that it was a marshmallow all along! That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but if you’re expecting this cake pop to knock your socks off, you might want to temper your expectations.
Dipped Marshmallows
Speaking of marshmallows, the hand-dipped ones you can find in the Confectionery case do get some extra points for being oh-so-photogenic, and they are kind of fun to eat. Fair warning though, they are extremely sweet, so prepare for an impending sugar rush if you feed them to your kids.
We do have qualms with the price here yet again, as $6.50 is a steep price to pay for a small-ish marshmallow — but live your life! If your heart says to get the marshmallow, get the marshmallow. Just know that there are even better treats hiding here!
Cookies
We never met a cookie we didn’t like, truthfully. But we will say that some cookies are better than others, and while the cookies at the Confectionery aren’t anything to write home about — they’re not too bad either. If you’re really craving a giant cookie or are looking to split something, then this might do the trick.
These cookies tend to be a bit dry and crumbly and make a bit of a mess when you’re eating them (but what Disney dessert doesn’t?!). They do make for decent leftovers if you don’t happen to finish the whole thing though. Just toss it in your bag for later when you need a lil snack!
Scones
Next up on our ranking is the Mickey Scone with Chocolate. We know what you’re thinking — a scone? Really? YES! And here’s why — this thing is a pretty good value for the size! For $5.49, you get a thick, chocolate-covered scone that could easily be shared between friends.
Chocolate fans might get a kick out of this as there are chips loaded throughout, plus a chocolate drizzle and Mickey-shaped chocolate pieces too!
Fudge
You’ll find fudge on the menu over here as well, in a few different flavors. When we visited most recently, we spotted Peanut Butter Fudge with M&M’s Peanut Butter, Chocolate Pretzel Fudge, and Chocolate Fudge with Twix.
But, depending on what time of year you’re visiting, it’s possible that there may be seasonal flavors of fudge too! Around Halloween, we’ve seen pumpkin spice and during Christmastime, we’ve seen egg nog fudge. It’s creamy, but it is extremely sweet and can easily melt in that Florida sun. We don’t find this travels too well, so keep that in mind!
Caramel Apples
Ah, it’s time to talk about the controversial Caramel Apple. Delightful to look at, delicious in theory, and ridiculously difficult to eat. But dang, aren’t they cute?! At around $13 a pop, they’re certainly an expensive treat, but they’re made by hand with great skill so we’re okay with it.
What we aren’t okay with, though, is the ooey, gooey, sticky mess that follows trying to eat one of these bad boys. They’re not easy to pack up if you decide to save some for later, either. Caramel apples do get bonus points for being so fun to look at, and we often see seasonal designs pop up throughout the year!
Cupcakes
Disney cupcakes can be pretty hit or miss, but if you’ve got a hankerin’ for a solid, no fuss, sweet treat — this is your answer. Of course, there are much fancier and flashier desserts for you to choose from, but sometimes all you want is a cupcake with Mickey ears as you walk down Main Street, U.S.A.
Cupcakes are another dessert that will get a seasonal makeover or even just for one day of the year! Chances are, if there’s a holiday coming up you’ll be able to find a special cupcake for it. We will warn you, though, that the icing on these bad boys tends to stain lips, teeth, hands, knees, shoulders, toes, and definitely that clean white shirt you’re wearing.
Brownie/Blondie Pie
Now we’re really getting into the good stuff. Main Street Confectionery is home to some delicious pies — specifically the Brownie and Blondie pies! Chocolate lovers will no doubt be into the soft, rich, chewy brownie pie that’s drizzled with chocolate sauce.
The blondie is delicious too, with a buttery, almost salty flavor that’s a bit less sweet than the brownie. You’ll still find some chocolate pieces in this one too, and at $6.50, it’s a pretty good value for the size of the treat.
Crisped Rice Cereal Treats
Runner up for the BEST treat you can get in the Confectionery case are the Crisped Rice Cereal Treats. These things pack a pretty big punch! They’re a decent size for the price, and are easily sharable if that’s your jam. And can we talk about how adorable they are? These treats are iconic for a reason.
You can typically get a Mickey version and a Minnie version, but depending on when you’re visiting there may be seasonal designs too. And, since they come on a stick, these treats get points for being one of the least messy you can get in the parks!
Peanut Butter Cookie Pie
Well, folks, here we are. We’re bringing things home with the number one snack on our list here — the Peanut Butter Cookie Pie is our absolute favorite. It’s a cookie, it’s a pie, it’s covered in M&M’s and tastes like peanut butter. What is not to love about this?! It’s shareable like the other cookie pies on the list, but this one just stands above the rest thanks to that peanut buttery goodness.
