If you’ve been to EPCOT in the last couple of years, it’s very likely that you’ve gotten lost in the veritable MAZE of construction walls that have seemingly taken over that park.
All of those construction walls are surrounding several projects that are part of EPCOT’s huge transformation, with areas like Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana and CommuniCore Hall still in progress. We’ve seen the construction walls change around and even come down in some areas, and now another change has been spotted!
While we were strolling through World Nature recently, we did a double take. What is that? Could it be?
YES! Some construction walls have come down in this area. Previously, there were walls blocking the walkway behind the Lion King topiaries.
Although the walls are still there on the side, they’re not blocking the entire area behind the topiaries anymore.
Now that space is open. And you know what that means…the World Nature bathrooms have finally reopened! These have been closed for a couple of years now, but they’re finally available now.
Just a little while ago, these were blocked off and unavailable to guests.
Remember how we told you about EPCOT’s cool color-coding system?
Well, these bathrooms follow the pattern with wavy green lines to fit in with World Nature.
We know you’ve been anxiously waiting for this bathroom news, and we’re happy we could bring it to you.

No attention to detail is too small for The Disney Food Blog — thank you for this very important piece of information! 😉

At Epcot, I’ve been stopped and checked out at the metal detector entrance at least four times this year. Two of those times I also had a problem at the fingerprint entrance, and a Disney photographer took my picture one time.Of all of the millions of people that come into Epcot each year how could I have such luck? I wish I could have this much luck with the Lottery! I have an annual pass and come in alone wearing sunglasses, so I must look really supicious. This kind of thing has been going on for at least twenty years. With all of the security technology you have don’t you know who I am yet? Or are you trying to get me to quit comming?

With all that water interaction with passing guests, I would hope that Disney has adequate facilities coverage to meet expected demand

I thought maybe WDW was adding restrooms to lightning lane or virtual queue. Just going to have to take my chances waiting in line.

Thanks for the blog! Good luck with the swimming – I was actually a WaveGuard at the wave pool at Wet n Wild when I turned 50, in 2003! (Weekend job!). I just retired last year when I turned 70. I was a medication manager and worked here, in Orlando, at the same place for 17 years. Don’t miss it!!! Took my middle sister to EPCOT for her 75th birthday, rode Ratatouille, lunched at Chefs de France.

Tom:
Not sure if this might be a problem, but if you have a large battery bank in your bag, it will oftentimes get you pulled aside for secondary inspection. So to prevent this, pull out your battery bank and hold it above shoulder level when going through the security scanners.

That’s terrible, Tom! Have you asked them why they pulled you aside? Many times they are nice and will tell you what the item was that caused the problem. Good luck!
