Walt Disney World has no shortage of unique restaurants. If you enjoy dining at themed locations, you’ll find a plethora of Table Service and Quick Service places such as Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom and Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
While you can definitely find typical theme park food such as hot dogs, pizza, and popcorn, there are some Disney restaurants that truly standout from the crowd. One of our absolute favorites is EPCOT’s Space 220 Restaurant and Lounge!
An innovative, space-themed location, Space 220 features an out-of-this-world dining room as well as a lounge with a bar.
But how do you decide whether to dine at Space 220 Restaurant vs. Space 220 Lounge? Let’s take a look at both places!
Atmosphere
Your experience at both venues begins at Space 220’s Departure Lounge.
From there, you’ll journey to the Centauri Space Station!
Here, you will dine amongst the cosmos with breathtaking views of Earth. Keep an eye out for space vehicles and astronauts. Your view from 220 miles above Earth is absolutely spectacular!
Space 220 is actually an open concept restaurant. So, the lounge area looks directly over the main dining room. Therefore, guests in both the lounge & the restaurant will have the same space view & experience.
The seating does vary between the restaurant & lounge. At the Lounge, there is a bar, plus parties of 2 or 4 can be seated at standard tables.
The restaurant has a wider range of seating options including booths that can seat 6 or more people.

Menu
The dining room and lounge have separate menus. The main Space 220 Dining Room is a Prix Fixe meal. Lunch includes an appetizer and an entrée. Dinner includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
The lounge offers separate a la carte options. But if you ask your server, you are usually able to order from the restaurant menu as well. But this only goes one-way. If you sit in the restaurant, you only have access to the restaurant prix-fixe menu, but in the lounge, you can access both.
The lounge is located in the same dining space as the restaurant and features a special lounge menu (with a few lounge-only exclusives!), but you can also order off the full menu to do the prix fixe meal. Some of the lounge exclusives include the Astro Deviled Eggs, the Chicken on Waffles, and the New England Lobster Roll.
The restaurant’s Atmospheric Spirits (A.K.A. specialty cocktails!) are also a great option for this walk-up-only space.
We especially liked the Atmospritz and the Jupiter Fizz!

Advance Dining Reservations
You’ll need reservations to get access to either area. Walk-ups are accommodated at the bar, but seating is limited and cannot be guaranteed.
Don’t forget you can eat at the Space 220 lounge if you want some smaller bites with that out-of-this-world experience (the lounge does require reservations), or you could try to grab a walk-up seat at the bar for a last-minute experience.
The lounge area is much smaller than the restaurant, and with fewer tables, so reservations for this area are even more difficult to secure.
The restaurant has more tables and a larger room, but these reservations are still in high demand.
