We’ve seen quite a few changes within The Walt Disney Company in the past year.
Ever since Bob Iger stepped back into his role as CEO, he’s been making major adjustments. This has included rearranging some executive positions and later cutting 7,000 jobs. But now, another big change has come along.
Variety reports that Disney’s Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President Latondra Newton is stepping down from her role at the company. She was there for more than six years.
Variety states that, “An individual with knowledge of the situation says that Newton will be joining the corporate board of another company soon, and plans to devote more time to her self-owned creative company.” Newton was previously charged with the responsibility of overseeing Disney’s “commitment to produce entertainment that reflects a global audience and sustains a welcoming and inclusive workplace for everyone.”
Until a new Chief Diversity Officer is named, Newton’s direct reports will report to Julie Merges on an interim basis. This change comes less than a week after Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy’s decision to step down from her role. So now it seems Disney will be tasked with finding a new CEO to take over once Iger’s temporary return ends, a new CFO, and a new Chief Diversity Officer. There will likely be lots of work ahead.
We’ll keep you updated with any more important Disney executive changes, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest.

WOW! Bob Iger is cleaning house, always see pictures of Josh D’Amaro in the parks, does he not hear people are upset about the steady price hikes Genie+ and more, but does he actually look @ the cheap made merchandise with the high dollar price???? I wouldn’t mind seeing D’Amaro on that list.
