We’ve got to save you before you make this next grave mistake at Disney World and cost yourself time out of your vacation.
We know that your idea of a good start to a Disney park day might be refilling your shiny Starbucks tumbler, even if you were the first one ready to go in the morning. We’re here to tell you that stopping at your normal coffee stop might be the mistake that sets the tone for your day, and we’ve got a suggestion for a better strategy.
Lots of people have to do one thing when they enter the Disney World park gates … head for the nearest Starbucks location. Hats off to you, though, because other than the Starbucks logo, they tend to be hidden since they’re known by another name once you’re inside each of the parks. You usually can tell them by one sign — their long lines.
It’s very common at the beginning of the day to walk by the park’s resident Starbucks location as you’re walking in and see lots of people waiting in line. We get it, Starbucks is great and we’re huge fans ourselves, but you’re wasting valuable ride time (especially in the morning when the rides are usually their shortest) by waiting in the longest possible line so far that day.
Our suggestion is to walk to the closest Joffrey’s location and bypass the line at Starbucks. Typically there are significantly lower lines — especially first thing in the morning. There’s even a location for Joffrey’s outside of a few of the parks like at EPCOT, or at the Ticket and Transportation Center as you’re taking the monorail or ferryboat to the Magic Kingdom. These locations in particular are known to see very little to no wait, even as swarms of people pass right by them. We’ll give you bonus points if you’re enjoying that beverage hot or cold on your way over to scan into the park and breeze right in!
Joffrey’s has a good selection of coffee, teas, ice-cold refreshers, and even assorted pastries. If you’re a DVC member or annual passholder they’ll also honor a discount at each of their locations when you ask, and show your card with your ID.
We’re all about trying to help you get the most out of your vacation time and spend it as wisely as possible while you’re in the Disney parks. So, consider picking up your coffee at Joffrey’s next time, it just might surprise you! For the latest in Disney parks tips and tricks, check back in with us at Disney Food Blog.

You can also mobile order at a quick serve restaurant. I remembered that after waiting in line an hour at the Joffrey’s kiosk near Space Mountain.

Disney Visa Cardmembers also get a Joffrey’s discount. It’s usually 20% at most locations.

It’s a matter of taste (and selections). I’d stand in a Starbucks line over no line at Joffery’s any day.
Ken says
Starbucks is nothing but flavored hot water at a ski high price. I will take a plain old Dunkin coffee at half the price. Who the heck is Joffrey’s anyway… never heard of the outside of Disney. I just thought it was the under cover Disney brand
Jeff says
Not a coffee person. WDW is exciting enough that I don’t really need coffee. You can always brew a cup in our room before you leave for the park. A lot shorter line and a lot cheaper.
Kevin says
Except Starbucks is so much better than Joffrey’s.

This doesn’t affect me because I would never go to a Starbucks for coffee.

I love Starbucks but I also love Joffreys!!!

If you stay on site you can get that morning coffee in your room. I drink my coffee while everyone else is getting ready.

My family enjoys a good cup of coffee in the morning. The pouches in the room are ubdrinkable. You can walk to the cafeteria but they are using the same Disney roast and it is very watery. Also undeniable! A lot of people these days drink icy cream and sugar with a side of coffee so probably don’t notice. If you go to Jeffrey’s their regular coffee is also….Disney blend, but brewed better. The solution is to go to Joffreys and order the Americano which uses an Italian blend and approximates a decent cup of coffee.

Joffrey’s is a joke. We asked for an americano at our resort location and were told to go order brewed coffee at the cafeteria. We explained that it’s espresso shots with hot water and she refused to add the how water, “you can get hot water at the cafeteria” then refused to put it in a cup that would fit the hot water. ok….. then we ordered oat milk for our regular coffee and they used almond milk like it doesn’t matter as long as it’s plant based? My daughter has a nut allergy so yes it matters. They simply have no idea what they’re doing, as if they’ve also never drank anything but drip much less how to make it. SMH
