Roller coasters are a favorite part of a theme park vacation for many people.
Slinky Dog Dash
Disney World has a few different roller coasters to choose from in the different parks — TRON Lightcycle / Run, Expedition Everest, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Slinky Dog Dash to name a few. But how does the speed of these coasters rank up against other coasters worldwide? Now we know the answer, and it’s not very well.
Roller Coaster DataBase recently put together a list of the fastest roller coasters worldwide when measured in kilometers per hour, and Disney is NOWHERE on the list.
Expedition Everest
6 out of the 10 roller coasters on the list are located in the USA, 1 is in Canada, 1 in Japan, 1 in Spain, and the fastest roller coaster is in the United Arab Emirates, which goes 149.1 miles per hour. In comparison, the fastest ride at Disney World is Test Track at 65 miles per hour and the fastest roller coaster in Disney World is TRON Lightcycle / Run, which goes 60 miles per hour.

- Formula Rossa — Ferrari World Abu Dhabi — 149.1 mph
- Kingda Ka — Six Flags Great Adventure/Top Thrill Dragster — Cedar Point — 128 mph
- Red Force — Ferrari Land/Do-Dodonpa — Fuji-Q Highland — 111.8 mph
- Superman: Escape from Krypton — Six Flags Magic Mountain — 100 mph
- Steel Dragon 2000 — Nagashima Spa Land/Fury 325 — Carowinds — 95 mph
- Millennium Force — Cedar Point — 93 mph
- Leviathan — Canada’s Wonderland — 92 mph
- Orion — Kings Island — 91 mph
- Intimidator 305 — Kings Dominion — 90 mph
- Hyperion — Energylandia — 88.2 mph

For the record, none of Universal’s coasters have made it on here either. So if you travel to Universal or Disney World and think those thrills are almost a little too much, DEFINITELY don’t ride any of the roller coasters on this list, because they very well may be too much!

I’ve only ridden one of these rides, Kinda Ka. In the front seat by myself. It was awesome! I will say that my favorite at WDW right now is Guardians of the Galaxies. Super fun and a very different coaster experience.
