Oh, Genie+. One moment we’re watching the price skyrocket; the next, we’re celebrating a lower cost for Disney’s service to skip the standby lines. We get it. There have been a lot of changes to Genie+ since it was first introduced. Some changes are surprisingly good, while others are…not so great.
One of the latest changes to hit Disney’s Genie+ service is a new multi-park option for guests hoping to use Genie+ in multiple parks on the same day. In the past, the price to use Genie+ was the same for all four parks, but now the cost of Genie+ may vary from park to park, or guests can buy the new multi-park option to use Genie+ in multiple parks. The change went live on June 27th, but now let’s check to see how things are looking after the big debut.
Before we get into the latest updates, let us walk you through the (slightly) new system. Beginning on June 27th, Disney World guests must purchase Genie+ based on the park (or parks) that they plan to visit. Visitors can either buy a single-park Genie+ option or a multi-park option.
As with the old system, Genie+ is subject to availability, and the prices will vary. So far, we’ve noticed that Genie+ may cost a little more in Magic Kingdom on any given day versus Disney’s Animal Kingdom, though we’ll continue to keep our eyes out for changes.
During our visit to Disney World on June 28th, we noticed some Genie+ services were less expensive than the past few days. Here’s a look at the Genie+ availability on June 28th, 2023.
One day prior, the multi-park Genie+ option was $27, while the single-park Genie+ price for Magic Kingdom was $27, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios was $24. In the span of 24 hours, the price of Genie+ decreased by $2, but we will continue to monitor the costs.
Clearly, Disney’s latest Genie+ change is still in its early stages, so we will be interested to see how the price continues to fluctuate from day to day. Will we keep seeing small price differences? Could Genie+ get more expensive? We’ll have to wait and see! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

So how much was Genie Plus last summer? I think the price has already increased quite a lot! When we went last Fall, we paid $15 for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Now it is $24? That is an AMAZINGLY high increase in price in less than a year. They say they will make it easier to use? That is a joke. They keep making it more and more complicated. This is essentially a park reservation if you purchase Genie Plus for a certain park. What if you want to change parks? Geez. It is getting more and more expensive and more and more complicated. I am reaching the point where it isn’t fun anymore.
