Okay, we’re just going to say it…it’s VERY hot in Disney World…hot and humid. Ew.
So what’s better than cooling down with an ice cream treat? We’ll tell you! Cooling down with Disney princess-themed ice cream treats! We already tried several snacks inspired by the live-action Little Mermaid movie, but today, we’re back with two more ice cream desserts featuring two MORE princesses!
So join us as we head on over to Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom. First up is the Rapunzel Sundae for $7.79, which is Shortcake with DOLE Whip Lemon and Wild Berry Soft-serve, topped with Berry Compote and Sugar Flowers.
Let us tell you what we LOVED about this sundae. The tart lemon Dole Whip just worked SO well with the sweet and creamy berry soft serve. The whipped cream just made it that much more creamy and delicious. We also loved how much fresh fruit was on top — YUM!
Now let us tell you what we did NOT love about the Rapunzel Sundae. It melts fast, so you’ll have ice cream soup pretty quickly. Although we liked the taste of the shortbread, we thought it was a little dry (although shortbread is generally dry, to be fair). Overall, though, we still LOVED this sundae and would order it again. It’s sweet, it’s cool, and it’s pretty (before it instantly melts, that is).
We also ordered the Aurora Cone for $6.29. This is a DOLE Whip Strawberry and Blue (apparently “blue” is a flavor, but really it’s just vanilla) Soft-serve topped with White Chocolate Crisp Pearls in a Sugar Cone. Disney made it pink AND blue!
This treat was also SO delicious. The strawberry had a nice, fresh tart taste, and the Dole Whip was sweet and creamy. The flavors here balanced out really well. We also loved the crispy pearls because they added a nice crunch.
BUT…this one melts fast, too. Yes, that’s to be expected in Florida in summer, but prepare for this treat to turn into a soupy mess before you finish it. Honestly, though, WORTH IT.
During our visit, the Aurora Cone and the Rapunzel Sundae were not yet listed on the Storybook Treats menu on the My Disney Experience app, though it could just be that Disney didn’t update the app with the menu change yet. Be sure to check out those physical menus in the parks; you never know what you might discover!

The blue in the aurora cone is blue raspberry! It adds a fantastic tang that makes the treat more refreshing (and more interesting)!
