Summer means lots of thunderstorms in Orlando, and those storms could seriously impact your travel plans to Disney World.
If you’re traveling to Central Florida today, chances are good that you’ll experience delays or potentially even flight cancelations.
Current storms in the Orlando area have caused many flight delays and cancelations at the Orlando International Airport (MCO). In fact, there is currently a ground stop issued at MCO that lasts through 5:30PM EST.
According to the National Airspace System, the average flight delay due to these storms is 45 minutes.
Wesh reporter Eric Burris posted on Twitter that 107 Orlando Airport flights have been delayed and 18 have been outright canceled.
Make sure to keep an eye on your flight if you’re traveling soon. Many airlines have apps that you can download in order to check your flight’s status, or you can call the airline’s customer support number.
If your flight is delayed or canceled, you may be entitled to reimbursement. Be sure to check with your airline!
