Magic Kingdom gets all the attention, but Disney’s Animal Kingdom is full of some of the best food in Disney World.
Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries? The perfect snack. Flame Tree Barbecue’s Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork? We’ve been singing its praises for YEARS. But, when we want something sweet, you can find us at Tamu Tamu Refreshments (unless there is some bizarre new dessert shaped like a bug at Creature Comforts that day, that is). One of our favorite treats in Animal Kingdom is an oldie but a goodie, and we have to make sure you know about it.
At Tamu Tamu Refreshments there is a DOLE Whip concoction that is not only delicious but beautiful. The Simba Sunset is made with DOLE Whip Pineapple and Strawberry, and you can get it for $5.99.
This colorful and refreshing treat is yellow and red, just like the beloved lion we know and love. The Pineapple DOLE Whip is the classic kind you can find all over the parks — sweet, creamy, and a little tart. The strawberry syrup added a delicious sweetness, and the pineapple and strawberry flavors went great together!
The only thing we need to warn you about is that it melts fast in the Florida heat, so be prepared with your utensils and napkins ASAP or you’ll have a sticky red mess on your hands.
But, we think this one might just be worth the mess. Have you tried this snack in Disney World? Let us know what you thought in the comments below and stay tuned for more Disney World snack news!
