A fan-favorite location in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Rafiki’s Planet Watch, a land only accessible to guests by train.
Here, you can explore a variety of interactive activities and even get up close and personal with some animals! Rafiki’s Planet Watch is a great way to learn about and see the ways in which Disney cares for the animals that reside in the park as well as the conservation efforts made for the species as a whole. If you’re a fan of Rafiki’s Planet Watch or you’re hoping to go soon, we have some important news!
Rafiki’s Planet Watch is closed on July 12th for maintenance on the train tracks. Guests are currently unable to visit the land, and, of course, the activities and attractions within. We got this notification while at Animal Kingdom for the day.
We asked a Cast Member if the land would re-open tomorrow, July 13th, and they said that that was the plan! Hopefully everything goes according to said plan!
UPDATE: Rafiki’s Planet Watch reopened on July 13th.
If you were hoping to take a look at some animals, you’re in luck! Kilimanjaro Safaris and the chimpanzee habitat in Discovery Island are other great ways to see some animals hanging out.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated with any and all Disney news and updates, so make sure to follow along for more!
