As you know, we keep a close eye on any news involving Disney theme parks. Recently, you may have heard about a new theme park in development for Frisco, Texas.
Which popular brand made the announcement? Let’s take a closer look!
Is Disney Coming to Texas?
To put it simply…nope. Honestly, this is a rumor that has spread multiple times in the Disney space, so we wanted to debunk the rumor.
Disney is not planning to make a move to Texas or to build a theme park in Texas anytime soon.Â
What Theme Park Is Coming to Texas?
An Orlando-based theme park is coming Texas though. Recently, Universal Parks & Resorts announced plans on expanding its lineup of theme parks by building a BRAND NEW experience in Frisco, Texas!
Utilizing 97 acres of land, Universal wants to build a theme park that is aimed at younger children. Since Universal Orlando Florida seems geared towards teens and adults, this park concept will be fun to explore.
Will Disney Ever Leave Florida?
But, what about the recent conflict between Disney and the State of Florida? The situation continues to escalate. So, there’s no doubt that some Disney World fans have recently asked themselves if Disney would consider leaving Florida.
Still, Disney World is a Florida icon that employs approximately 75,000 people in the Sunshine state. With 40+ square miles of infrastructure comprising four theme parks, an entertainment district (Disney Springs), water parks, and more, it would be no small feat for Disney to pack up and move.
Many experts (including theme park architects and engineering consulting firms) agree that leaving Florida is likely not feasible. The financial cost alone would be in the billions.
So, Where Does Disney Have Theme Parks?
There are twelve Disney parks in the world across six different resorts. Here’s a brief summary:

Disney should not allow a temporary governor in florida to have any impact, hold your own, you will outlast him and his hateful ways!

Thank you for not making me scroll through the entire article to find the answer to the post tag line. I sooooo appreciate that. I still scrolled through but to feel bated into scrolling through on different blogs all the time is so irritating. So thank you!

Disney Is too big to fail in Florida (and California). They will outlast any government that will come and go throughout the decades as they have always have done, and will continue do so.

Why on earth would Disney even remotely consider going to Texas, they are just as bad as Florida if not worse! Can you imagine razor wire everywhere you go?
Ryan says
MIchael Holland,
As a resident of Texas, I take offense to that. “Razor wire”? You mean “Barb wire”. And we are not bad. Yes we have westerners moving here making it like the state they just left but we are not bad so please watch what you say if you have never been or lived here.
But we don’t need or want a Disney park here. We have Six Flags, which is now in several other states but ours is the original. We don’t have any spots for it. We have several of the biggest cities in the country and no land. Even if the state approved it, citizens wouldn’t. It’s not because of Disney but because of taxes.
