We just found a major CLUE about one of the biggest holiday events of the year.
Disney is getting ready for the holiday season right now! We know it’s only July, but these preparations take MONTHS, so they’ve got to be ahead of the game. We already spotted hints about what the Halloween and Christmas parades will look like in Disney World — casting calls and audition announcements gave us an inside look at changes there. Now, we’ve found another casting call that reveals what Disney plans to do for the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Disney has long been part of the popular Thanksgiving Day Parade, and it looks like they’re planning to return in 2023.
In 2021, Disney debuted the Disney Wish parade float — called “Magic Meets the Sea” — which was modeled after the newest ship on the Disney Cruise Line.
We’ve also seen a gigantic Baby Yoda balloon float in the parade.
Last year, there was a performance by the cast of The Lion King on Broadway to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.
So what’s Disney going to do in 2023? It looks like the Disney Wish cruise ship float might be returning. According to a recent casting call, Disney is looking for characters to be part of the float. The audition says it’s for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2023 but also lists that it’s about the Disney Cruise Line.
Here are the roles that Disney is looking to fill:
- Spider-Man
- Black Panther
- Mirabel from Encanto
- Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog
- Prince Naveen from The Princess and the Frog
- Moana
- Jasmine
- Aladdin
- Rapunzel
- Anna from Frozen
- Elsa from Frozen
- Peter Pan
- Miguel from Coco
The audition call states that performers must be available for rehearsals and the big event from November 17th through the 23rd, 2023.
To audition, you’ll need to create a profile on Disney’s Career website and then select an audition appointment time. Here are a few requirements that Disney lists on the casting call:
- Must be willing to comply with all Disney grooming guidelines and employment standards.
- All performers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must Reside in the New York Tri-State area.
- Performers must be available November 17 to 23, 2023.
- We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds to attend.
We’ll keep watching for more updates from Disney, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news!

Drew says
If they do this again, they better have Anna and Elsa in their Frozen 1 outfits and hairstyles. I’m getting sick of seeing their Frozen 2 looks. The Frozen 1 looks are so iconic and way better than the ones in Frozen 2. Frozen 1 is special and it gets everyone, especially Frozen fans, really excited. Frozen 2 tries to but it doesn’t. I hope they bring the Frozen 1 outfits and hairstyles to the Macy’s Day parade and hope they also bring back the Frozen 1 looks to the Royal Sommerhus at the Norway pavilion at Epcot so we can meet Anna & Elsa in their Frozen 1 looks. It would make us so happy!
