There is no shortage of Italian food in Disney World, but it can be a challenge to find some that is actually good.
I stopped by Disney Springs this week to have a bite to eat at Pizza Ponte and to check out how it compares to other Italian spots in Disney World. Come see how it went!
Atmosphere
Pizza Ponte is part of a trio of restaurants — connected to Maria & Enzo’s and Enzo’s Hideaway, each serving up a different style of Italian food. Pizza Ponte is a fast-casual place to stop for a slice of pizza, salad, or dessert as you’re wandering Disney Springs.
Inside, you’ll find simple decor in an Art Deco style, along with a fair amount of seating and tables.
These can fill up, however, but there are some more seating options available outside.
Once you enter, you’ll be able to order at a long counter that has an array of pizza, salads, desserts, and beverages.
Let’s take a look at the options!
Menu
Above the counter, you’ll see a few menus highlighting the offerings. First, there’s a list of Salads — which were confusingly under the Sandwiches sign. A Cast Member shared that it is an old sign, and sandwiches are not currently offered.
You can choose between Caesar, Misticanza, and Mozzarella & Tomato, which are pre-made in the case below.
Next up was the Pizza — the main event.
Below, you’ll get to take a look at each option, like the Big Roman…
…Pepperoni…
…Four Cheese…
…Funghi…
…Parma Cotto…
…San Genaro…
…and the Ortolana.
There was also a relatively new option that debuted earlier this year — the Bun Giorno.
And there are a few desserts offered.
In the case, you’ll find Cannoli…
…Cheesecake…
…and Tiramisu.
Lastly, there is a selection of beverages to choose from.
By the register, I noticed a few sodas, water, and juices.
There are also a few alcoholic options, like beer and canned wine.
Let’s eat!
Eats
I chose the Bun Giorno, Ortolana and Funghi slices, and the Italian Rainbow Cookie.
First up, I got the Bun Giorno for $8.50. This is a Housemade Garlic-cheese Pinwheel layered with Mozzarella, Provolone, Roasted Garlic, and Parmigiano with Marinara.
I thought this was delicious. The bread was doughy and dense, in the best way possible. The outside had a lovely crunch from both the crispy edges of the bread and the cheese on top.
It was garlicky, but it didn’t hit you in the face — just the perfect amount. The inside was soft and perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that it would have been even better if it was ordered right when it came out of the oven. However, it is reheated when you order it, which takes away some of the freshness. But, I would still order this again.
Next up, I tried the Funghi Pizza Slice for $8.50. This was topped with Tomato, Mozzarella, Fontina, and Forest Mushrooms.
The flavors on this are good if you like mushrooms. The blend of cheeses was bold and delicious, with the Fontina giving it a pungent feel that paired well with the mushrooms.
However, there were parts of the dough that were undercooked, and it was a bit greasy.
For my second slice, I tried the Ortolana for $8.75. This was topped with Tomato, Mozzarella & Mixed Vegetables.
I loved this slice. While the Funghi was greasy and didn’t have the best dough base, this slice was perfectly cooked. It had nice crispy edges and was pillowy inside.
The veggies were fresh, vibrant, and bold and made this taste hearty without any meat. The olives were VERY prominent, however, so if you’re not a fan of that salty, vinegary taste, you probably won’t like this.
For dessert, I got the Rainbow Cookie for $8. This is a Tri-color Almond Sponge Cake with Raspberry jam and Chocolate Ganache.
I loved the chocolate topping. It was a really rich dark chocolate ganache that was just really decadent. And the raspberry jam added a great flavor to the cake, which had a strong almond extract taste.
Overall the flavors were good, but the cake itself was a tad on the dry side.
Nosh or Not
Head over to this spot for some ‘za if…
- You have a hankering for some pizza. While not all of the pizza blew me away, this spot does have some impressive options.
- You’re looking for a convenient lunch. This place has some pretty good food for a quick counter service spot, and you can be in and out rather quickly.
- You’re in Disney Springs for the day. This is a great spot if you’re shopping around the Springs and are just looking for an easy lunch.
Skip the Disney Springs location if…
- You are looking for a spot with more options. While there are quite a few pizza choices here, they no longer have sandwiches, so options are limited!
- You don’t love pizza. That’s pretty much the main offering here, so if you’re looking for something besides that or salad, you’ll want to look elsewhere.
- You want a fancier meal. This is a pretty low-key quick service location, and there are tons of table service options in the area. If you’re looking for something for a special occasion, I would skip this spot.
Overall
As a whole, I really enjoyed Pizza Ponte. The atmosphere was bright and airy, and I loved the concept. However, not all of my choices blew me away.
The Funghi slice was undercooked and greasy, but the Ortolana was really good! I’d say this spot is worth a stop, but maybe just be mindful of which slice you choose. Since you get to look at the option before you order, you can try to pick one out that looks a little fresher.

Worst pizza I have ever had!!!!!!! And I’m 61 yrs old. Should have gone to a grocery store and bought a frozen pizza, thawwed it out and ate it.
I couldn’t pick it up to eat it. I couldn’t cut it with a knife and fork. Tasteless! Doughy!! Oily!! Was that pepperoni or a cut up hot dog on it? Servers cutting the pizza with scissors as a knife wouldn’t cut through it. We threw out half our order. Went to bed hungry. Just no way to eat that pizza!!
