There’s Disney World during regular times of the year — and then there’s Disney World during spooky season.
If you’ve never been to the parks and hotels during Halloween, there’s something especially enchanting about it. Pumpkins, ghosts, bats, characters in costumes, special parties, and more are everywhere you look — and Disney makes it a point to get the party started early. So early, in fact, that the first Halloween decorations have already arrived in Magic Kingdom!
EVERYONE REMAIN CALM — IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING! No matter where you stand on the “it’s too early to decorate for Halloween” debate, Disney World’s position is pretty clear.
Halloween has arrived at Magic Kingdom and we couldn’t be more thrilled! We spotted the iconic Jack-O’-Lanterns in front of Main Street, U.S.A. Train Station and only had a minor breakdown over how excited we were (Spoiler Alert: it was not minor.)

Not only that, but more pumpkins have been installed along Main Street, U.S.A.!
And, the iconic Scarecrows have gone up too! This guy is ready to go to Casey’s Corner…
…and we bet this one stopped by the Main Street Confectionery!
What sweet treats has this guy whipped up?
And this gal can probably help you find that perfect souvenir at The Emporium.
Ready for some tunes? So is he!
And it wouldn’t be Halloween without the Mayor!
The iconic Main Street, U.S.A. Jack-O’-Lanterns have arrived too, and we had to wait in a bit of a line to take these photos — it seems we’re not the only ones excited about spooky season!
More decorations are all up and down Main Street, U.S.A.
You can find fall-colored banners on all the buildings…
…and be sure to look for carved pumpkins!
The pumpkins match the theme of the stores they’re placed next to. For example, there are some ice cream pumpkins by the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor!
Look for the “House of Magic” sign, and you’ll find pumpkins with various magic-themed designs, like a deck of cards, a magic wand, and a top hat.
The fire station has some dalmatian pumpkins and a fire hydrant one!
On the way out, look up to see pumpkins spelling out the message, “See ya real soon!”
Don’t forget to pop into the Emporium to check out the Halloween merchandise before you go.

I’m sorry; it’s August for pete’s sake. You used to be able to go in August and enjoy the parks for the parks, not the holidays that are months away. I know they’ve continually inched up these celebrations so they can make more money for the special events. But then that takes time away from the regular park visitor as they have to be out of the parks in time for these special events. August is still summer. When it’s 90+ outside, I’m not the least bit interested in pumpkins and scarecrows. Can’t we allow holidays to take place in the months they are supposed to be in? I know people will say, ‘but I can’t go in October’. That may be true but then that gives you something to look forward to when you can visit in that month. People are not going to be able to do everything whenever they want. That’s just the way things are.

Way too early. Halloween shouldn’t surface until September. If Christmas gets two months (November-December), then Halloween doesn’t deserve three months. Pretty messed up when people were just there watching July 4th fireworks less than a month ago and now Halloween items are being shuffled in while excessive heat continues to occur.

This is ridiculously early. I remember when we used to go at the end of August/beginning of September. The first part of our trip it would be summery, and then the decorations would start going up at the did of it. That was 2 months before Halloween even then, and this is now a full month earlier.
