For Disney fans who LOVE a good snack, EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival is one of the BEST times of the year.
With booths featuring dozens of seasonal eats and sips, eating at this festival can truly be an experience in itself. This year’s Food and Wine Festival began on July 27th, and we tried EVERYTHING. We had a few favorites, of course, and today we’re going to share some of them with you. This post is dedicated to the very BEST items at the Food and Wine Festival that you can get for under $5.
Hey, eating at Disney World can be one of the most expensive parts of visiting. However, it doesn’t have to be. You just have to know where to look! You can still experience some amazing and delicious options at the Food and Wine Festival without spending a hefty chunk of change, and we’re gonna show ya how.
Here are 8 of our favorite items from this year’s Festival that are each $5 or less. Let’s go!
Freshly Baked Carrot Cake at Flavors of America
While the Flavors of America booth is new, this Carrot Cake is not. We go back for it again and again, year after year, and it never disappoints. It’s more of a nutty spice cake than a carrot cake, in our opinion, and it comes with sticky and delicious cream cheese icing.
This snack just screams sweater weather and PSL season, and it’s only $4.50.
Mango Lassi at India
The Mango Lassi isn’t new, and in the past it was good but wasn’t anything special. This year? Oh, man. If you’re looking for something that’s light and refreshing that just so happens to be inexpensive, this is for you. It has a great fruity mango flavor, and despite being milk-based, it’s light and didn’t make us feel yucky at all. (You know, milk and hot weather don’t typically mix for us, but in this case it worked out.)
This drink is $5, but you can get it spiked with Sōmrus Chai Cream Liqueur for $11.
Spicy Githeri at Refreshment Outpost
The Spicy Githeri features White Beans, Pigeon Peas, Curried BEN’S ORIGINAL™ Long Grain & Wild Rice, and Kachumbari Slaw. It’s another returning item, and it was flavorful in the past, but this year it really blew us away. The rice was cooked well and was flavorful, the vegetables provided a nice burst of flavor, the greens added a crunchy texture, and we LOVED the nice, slow-burn of a kick that the dish had.
It’s only $5 and great if you don’t mind some heat. 🔥
Warm Chocolate Pudding Cake at Ireland
The Warm Chocolate Pudding Cake is also a returning item. This pudding cake is served with Irish Creme liqueur custard and it was DELICIOUS this year.
It’s only $4.75, which is a great deal for this yummy treat, if you ask us.
Spiced Chocolate Tart at Flavors From Fire
This is a new one! This is a Spiced Chocolate Tart with BBQ potato chip crust, salted whisky-caramel, and smoked sea salt. Just from looking at it on the menu, we knew these flavors were going to be complex, and the treat did NOT disappoint.
It was super chocolatey and fudgy, but the savory BBQ crust at the bottom made for a nice surprise! The flavors balanced each other really well. You can try it for $4.75.
Apple Strudel at Germany
This apple strudel with vanilla sauce is $4.50, and has been a favorite of ours for years now. It’s a lot like an apple pie, but has that flaky deliciousness that you see more often in pastries. The filling combined with the vanilla sauce is sooooo smooth and sweet.
This is a great choice for kids and adults — picky eater-approved! (Well, as long as ya like apples.)
Honorable Mention: Guava Cake at Shimmering Sips
For our honorable mention of the post, we are highlighting this plant-based treat. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just seeking something a bit lighter, this could be a great option. It’s guava-flavored cake with coconut and whipped cream. One of our reporters who prefers to eat plant-based really loved this one, but those who aren’t used to eating plant-based didn’t enjoy the texture of the cake itself.
The flavor is good though, pretty sweet, and you can get this treat for $4.75.
And there you have it! These eats are not only delicious, but also affordable, which only helps the whole experience. We’ll continue to keep you updated with any and all Disney news and food reviews, so make sure to follow along for more.
