Planning a trip to Orlando? If your vacation plans involve flying to the city that is home to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Universal Orlando, and many other attractions, then you might be on the hunt for the BEST direct flight to get there.
We’ve seen a number of NEW nonstop flights announced from various cities around the U.S. (and even beyond the U.S.) to Orlando International Airport (“MCO”) but now we’re taking a deep dive into the world of flights to find the best nonstop option from each state to Orlando.
Before we begin, let’s go over a few of the rules we set in place. To the maximum extent possible, we looked for nonstop flights from a major airport in each U.S. state to MCO. Note that your city might not be on this list, and while MCO is a popular airport to fly into, you might prefer to fly into another spot, like the smaller Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).
Also, what we consider to be the “best” might not be what you prefer or what fits your needs. We tried to look for relatively early flights (so you could still enjoy some of your arrival day in Orlando, should you so choose), flights that were pretty decently priced, and flights on popular airlines (like Southwest, which has a big fan following). For Southwest flights, we stuck to Wanna Get Away tickets when possible. But the best airline for you might be one you have travel points with or just another one that you prefer for whatever other reasons.
To search for flights, we tried to see what was available for a one-way flight to MCO that departed on September 8th (to the maximum extent possible). Note that the availability of these direct flights and their exact times can vary depending on the date, so that could impact things. Also, keep in mind that we used Google Flights as the primary spot to find the flights. All prices included are for 1 person.
Still, we hope this list will be helpful in giving you a greater sense of just how many nonstop flights are available out there from each state!

Interesting but not useful for many. (But you knew that!)
NOBODY who lives in Central or Southern Ohio is going to drive to Cleveland. We have perfectly good flights out of Columbus (CMH). Fun Fact: The Cincinnati airport (CVG) is actually in Northern Kentucky!
Richard Mercer says
PS No need for people flying out of Seattle to even think about Delta under most circumstances. Alaska is an excellent airline!
