Picture this common occurrence at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: You’ve been trick-or-treating all night, your kids ate ice cream for dinner, and someone just offered you a candy-flavored milkshake…it sounds like you need a savory escape!
Don’t worry, we found just the thing. There’s one restaurant in Magic Kingdom that ONLY serves savory snacks during the after-hours Halloween party: The Friar’s Nook. Come with us for a salty escape from the mountain of sugar!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event requiring a separate ticket for entry. In 2023, the event will take place on select nights from August 11th through November 1st. Although there are some Halloween treats available all day long in Magic Kingdom, others only come out for the party.

Right now, we’re heading to The Friar’s Nook to try out the Pain and Panic Brat, Pain and Panic Loaded Tots, and Buffalo Chicken Handpie!
The Pain and Panic Brat is a bratwurst topped with sweet and spicy onion relish and sriracha mustard, and it costs $11.99. The spicy onion relish was quite sweet, which we appreciated. The sriracha mustard really brought the spice here. The sausage was tender and flavorful, and the pretzel bun was a favorite of ours. It is soft but still held together well.
These flavors are BOLD and aren’t for everyone. If you like adventurous foods and spice, you’ll enjoy these.
The Pain and Panic Loaded Tots are what you get if you crumble that entire brat onto tots: they’re tater tots topped with sweet and spicy onion relish, sriracha mustard, and crumbled bratwurst. They cost $11.49. This is the same flavor as the brat. It has a lot of spice so be prepared for that when you order this.
The Buffalo Chicken Handpie is topped with spicy ranch drizzle and blue cheese powder and costs $9.99. This was our favorite! The buffalo was actually really spicy and we loved the blue cheese powder. The hand pie itself was flaky and soft and the chicken was tender. The ranch sauce and blue cheese powder combo made it tangy and delicious.
If you love buffalo chicken, this is definitely for you. While some may find it too spicy, if you’re looking for a little heat, this is a great option. The only negative is that it is just one pie for a heavy price.
There’s more where that treat came from, though! Make sure to check out ALL of the treats available at the party before you go.

Don’t want to pay extra for treats at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Don’t worry — you can skip the restaurants and just trick-or-treat around the park instead. The candy is your typical Halloween goodies, but hey — it’s all sugar, right?
