Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially here, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally experience all things spooky. This after-hours party provides an opportunity for guests to catch a glimpse at an exclusive “Boo to You” parade, themed fireworks, and more at Magic Kingdom. All of that sounds fun, but what we’re really interested in is the FOOD! (Did you really expect us to not immediately head for the treats? This is the Disney FOOD Blog, after all.)
While yes, you can go trick-or-treating around the park during the Halloween party (which is free), there are also some exclusive treats that are only available for purchase during the event (not during normal park hours). It seems like a crime to not give those treats a try. Right now, we’re headed to Frontierland to try a few.
Golden Oak Outpost is a quick-service dining location located on the walk from Frontierland to Adventureland — close to the future Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

There are two treats that we’re trying — the Tombstone Tart and the Loaded Sweet Potato Fries. You can grab these snacks during regular park hours AND the Halloween Party, which is pretty great.
We grabbed the Loaded Sweet Potato Fries, which are tossed in cinnamon sugar and topped with marshmallow cream, butterscotch chips, and toffee pieces for $6.99.
The toppings on these fries were wonderful! We loved the marshmallow cream — it was thinner and saucier rather than thick and messy, and the butterscotch and chocolate chips were sweet but not overly sweet.
YALL. Stop everything because we found LOADED SWEET POTATO FRIES. 😍 These are tossed in cinnamon sugar and topped with marshmallow cream, butterscotch chips, and toffee pieces.

The toffee pieces also added a nice crunchy texture to the whole thing. This is like your favorite sweet potato casserole in fry form.
Not all of the fries were perfectly even — some were harder than others — but it wasn’t a huge problem to us. While they were sweet, they weren’t overly so, making this snack a favorite of ours. But if you don’t like sweet things or sweet potatoes, this won’t be for you!
We LOVED this snack, and since it’s in a smaller location that’s not as popular as other restaurants in the park, we’re afraid that people might walk right by and not even notice it! PLEASE DON’T!
You can also get the Tombstone Tart here, which is a flaky pastry filled with strawberry-jalapeño jam and topped with sprinkles and sugar spiders. You can grab It for $5.99.
This is a fun-looking snack in the shape of a tombstone with the icing detail “RIP” on top and really comes together with the sugar spiders and sprinkles. The dough in this one is very soft with a slight crunch on the sides that taste like a softer, fresher pop tart. The inside of the strawberry and jalapeño jam definitely has a strong strawberry flavor with some mild heat and spice in certain parts of the tart when you bite into it. It’s a very mild heat though — just enough to tell there’s a spice.
Overall, it’s a solid snack choice but we noticed there are spots where there is no jam and it’s very hollow, or in other spots you can taste just the strawberry jam with no spice. Sometimes you may end up getting a mild spice from the jalapeño but we don’t think you should expect it in every bite.
There’s more where that treat came from, though! Make sure to check out ALL of the treats available at the party before you go.

Don’t want to pay extra for treats at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Don’t worry — you can skip the restaurants and just trick-or-treat around the park instead. The candy is your typical Halloween goodies, but hey — it’s all sugar, right?
