Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is set to open in Disney World this year and some big updates have been shared about the attraction recently.
Cast Member previews will soon be available for registration, we’ve taken a look at some cues about the attraction’s potential use of a virtual queue, and Disney has revealed the Cast Member costumes for the attraction. But now we’ve got another update!
In an email, Disney shared a NEW LOOK at the logo for the attraction!
Disney also shared an image from the attraction. It looks like this one features the LARGE Te Fiti figure, a pole with some signage on it, and more pieces from the attraction.
On the website for the attraction, Disney has specified that it will be a “self-guided outdoor trail” where you’ll learn about water being a friend, water connecting us all, and the need to protect water.
It also specifies that you can choose to get wet while on this trail, or you can “take the dry path.” So if getting wet is NOT your thing, don’t be concerned — it looks like you’ll be able to avoid playing too much with the water here.
As of right now, Disney has only said that the attraction will open in the fall of 2023. We have heard some music testing here so we’re excited to see it open up before the end of the year.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more details and let you know what we find.

I hate that every new “ride” at Disney is tied to a virtual que because it is almost always impossible to get on the ride. Virtual ride times get snapped up immediately and results in the ride being unavailable to so many. Just have people stand in line. Isn’t that the most “equitable “ way. We all are on equal footing.

Gutted that we’re going to miss this, and the new Epcot fireworks, as we’ll be there in the first half of September and clearly we’re going to miss out by a few weeks.
