The time has come — things are getting EASIER in Disney World! We know that planning a trip to Disney World is no small task, so any time Disney rolls out a new feature to make things a little easier, we do a little happy dance! Recently, Disney announced that the way guests look for dining reservations is changing.
The old system was far from perfect. While you were able to search around for Advance Dining Reservations via the Disney World (or Disneyland) website or app, there was never a way to see the full list of available reservation times for any given restaurant. Instead, guests had to play around with the system in hopes that a different time would appear. But finally — things are changing.
The way you search for dining reservations in Disney World is officially beginning to change. Disney World is now in the process of rolling out its new system both online and on the My Disney Experience app!
If you’re looking for a specific dining reservation, you will now be able to see ALL of the available dining reservations for the restaurant you’re interested in. For example, if you’re looking for a lunch reservation for 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (a favorite among many) on a Saturday, you can see all the available lunchtime reservation times for that day. Note that Disney is still in the process of making the change, so you may not immediately be able to see the new layout.
As a reminder, in the past, you could only see a few available reservation times by selecting “lunch” or “1PM” under the old system. With this change, every single available lunch reservation time will pop up all at once, and you’ll be able to select whatever time works best for you. If you are familiar with the Open Table booking service, this change makes Disney’s system a little bit more like that.
Not only that, but you can filter by a ton of different categories and options, making it even easier for you to find what you’re looking for!
Keep in mind that this dining reservation change was also implemented on the Disneyland app and website. This update is still in the process of changing on the Disney World website and app, so keep your eyes out for the new look.

Bring back the ADR 180-day window. Everything else is cosmetic.

Can you still only book 60 days out from your vacation?
Richard Mercer says
One has to think that this was easier to program, as well as more useful for guests. And then one has to wonder what they were thinking of with the previous implementation…

Hi Tiffany! Yes, you still can’t book past 60 days.

Now if only they would bring back booking by location rather than having to scroll past all the “D’s” to get to EPCOT.
Dottyanna says
I am very excited for this as I will be making our dining reservations in about 30 days for our late November trip. Unfortunately, not seeing it on their website or MDE yet – keeping fingers crossed they will get this totally rolled out in the next two weeks!

So now all Disney needs to accomplish, is to stop people from over booking multiple reservations. This would make a huge impact on what is actually available for guests! So, unless Disney stops this, problems will continue.
