Things are getting REALLY exciting for Disney Cruise Line.
Not only is the cruise line celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, but there are also some NEW projects in the works. First, Disney has revealed a second private island, Lighthouse Point. Disney has also revealed that a new ship is on the way, the Disney Treasure — and soon, we’ll have NEW details about the new ship!
Disney recently shared that fans can tune in to the Disney Parks Blog at 11AM on August 30th to catch the official reveal of the Disney Treasure. So here’s what we’re expecting during that big reveal.
What we know
Let’s start with the few details Disney has already shared about the Treasure. We’ve already seen the stern artwork featuring Peter Pan and Hook. We’ve also seen Captain Minnie’s NEW look for the ship. Captain Minnie will also grace the bow of the ship. Disney has also shared concept artwork of the ship’s Grand Hall. As you can see in the concept art, the ship’s signature sculpture will feature three beloved characters from Aladdin: Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Magic Carpet!
Additionally, we know that the Disney Treasure is “inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace,” and draws influences from Asia, Africa, and even Aladdin’s Agrabah! The themes celebrated here honor “Walt Disney’s lifelong love of adventure.” Currently, the ship is set for delivery in 2024 and marks the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. We can’t wait!
But there’s still SO much we haven’t learned about the ship, so let’s look at what Disney may share in the future.
It Just Got EASIER To Book a Disney Cruise! See How
Dining
Disney has already said that the virtual reveal of the Treasure will show never-before-released details about the ship, including the world-class dining. That means we might get a first look at the restaurants on the ship and see how they’ll be similar or different from restaurants on other Disney cruise ships. Keep in mind that the Treasure is the sister ship to the Disney Wish, so we may see some similarities between the ships!
We’re especially hoping we’ll get a first look at some food that will be served in those restaurants. We could hope for full menus, but that might be asking for too much at this point. Either way, we’re excited to learn more!

Entertainment
Disney has also promised that August 30th will bring new details on the “immersive family entertainment” to be found aboard the new ship. This could mean we’ll get some details about the Broadway-quality shows guests can find aboard the ship, as well as other entertainment options, including nightclubs for adults, teens, and younger kids.
We’re excited to see what kinds of shows the Treasure will have in The Walt Disney Theatre. As the ship is themed around Walt Disney’s love of adventure, does that mean we’ll see shows featuring Peter Pan, the Pirates of the Caribbean, or maybe even Indiana Jones? (Okay, we’re totally on board with an Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at sea!)

Destination
We’re also looking forward to learning more about the port the ship will sail out of and where it will go. Will this be one of the ships headed to the Bahamas and Lighthouse Point? Or will it go to a destination we haven’t thought of yet? Will it sail from the U.S. or Europe? We can’t wait to find out!
We have SO many questions and what those first Disney Treasure itineraries will look like, so we hope Disney answers some of those.
