Temporary ride and attraction closures at Disney World are totally normal, and happen more often than you might think!
And no, they don’t mean that the rides are breaking down. Usually, these planned closures are for routine upkeep and maintenance so that the rides can run like new for years to come! Last week, we found out that a closure would take place in Magic Kingdom so that a fan-favorite attraction can be refurbished. Now, that ride is officially closed!
Yep, we’re talking about the Liberty Square Riverboat! This big boat can be spotted cruising the lake next to Haunted Mansion, and throughout the ride, you’ll learn a few interesting facts about the area. This ride is popular for those who are seeking a little siesta and for those who can’t resist a bit of Disney World facts and history.
Well, if you were hoping to snag a ride on the riverboat this week, you’re unfortunately out of luck. The boat is undergoing routine maintenance from August 21st through the 29th. Don’t worry, though. There are other boat rides that you can join in on!
You could always hop in line for a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean or Jungle Cruise, “it’s a small world”, or a shuttle across Seven Seas Lagoon to check out Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. (Pssst! These could be great places to get a bite to eat!)
