If you’re staying at a Disney-owned hotel during your Disneyland visit, you can enjoy some special perks. One of the best perks is Early Theme Park Entry!
Guests staying at any Disneyland Resort hotel can enter the parks 30 minutes before the official park opening, which means they can get on the most popular rides before the rest of the crowds show up. However, that policy is CHANGING soon!
Right now, both parks — Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure — open early each day, so Disneyland Resort hotel guests can choose whichever one they want to visit. On Disneyland’s website, there’s an update that states that the rules are changing beginning January 20th, 2024:
“Starting January 20, 2024, the early entry benefit will be updated, and Guests with valid park admission and reservations who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels may take advantage of this 30-minute early entry into a designated theme park for every day of their hotel stay. Each day, either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park will be open early. Please check the theme park calendar for the schedule.”
Guests will still get the extra 30 minutes, but only at whichever park has Early Entry that day. It sounds like Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will switch off which one has the perk for each day.
Early Entry only started at Disneyland last year, on August 8th, 2022.

I am baffled by their continued policy to punish people who stay at parks by taking away more and more perks
C says
Yay they are finally going back to something pre pandemic use to be be DisneylandTue thur DCA Mon Wed. It’s not just about the guest that can afford to stay there’s alot more regular guest that won’t be punished that pay alot also to visit and there already be a 30+wait time by the time park opens. Thank you Disney recognizing alot of your money comes from your diehard fsithfulls.
Randi Briggs says
Sigh! More loss of benefits.
Rebecca says
This means ALL hotel guests will be at one park each day (unless they’ve got park hopper tickets). Which means ALL non-hotel guests will be at the other park. At least that’s true for everyone who is informed about this policy. It’s going to create some very odd attendance trends as people figure out who ends up where most often. It’s also, yet again, one fewer reason to stay in a Disney Hotel.
Lyn says
Costs are going up and up, while you get less and less. Is Disney trying to tank itself to make the Apple take over easier? How many of the higher ups have offloaded their Disney shares and bought Apple?
Kimberley says
That’s the way it was done years ago, at least between the 50th and 60th anniversaries.
Tiffany says
Continued reduction of benefits along with increased complication: park tickets, park reservations, and specific days. These requirements are especially problematic when rides are not running as expected.
