If you’re hoping to take the new Brightline Train to the Orlando International Airport, we’ve got an important update!
Originally, Brightline announced that tickets for service from September 1st through September 6th would be available in early August. However, instead of posting ticket sales, Brightline communicated that the launch of the service to Orlando from South Florida would be delayed and that the train would not be en route to Orlando for those dates. Now, we’ve got MORE news regarding the train’s opening.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Brightline’s starting date for rail service between South Florida and Orlando has been delayed a SECOND time. Passengers who’d booked tickets for the service between September 7th to September 21st will be issued refunds, upgrades to premium fares, and lower Avis rental car rates.
The second delay follows a delay in train testing and crew certification, as well as effects from Hurricane Idalia. The Sentinel reports that Brightline stated in communication with passengers, “We are close to identifying a start date, but we’ve added a few more days to our work schedule to complete the final stages of certification and testing.”
Whew! Well, we hope that the Brightline train will be safely up and running sooner rather than later. We’ll continue to keep you all updated with more Disney and Orlando news. Make sure to follow along so that you don’t miss a thing!
