Dining at Disney World can be a little tricky, especially if you’re choosing to do some table service meals.
Table service restaurants are dining spots that require Advance Dining Reservations that can be made up to 60 days in advance. However, sometimes plans change in the parks and you realize you won’t be able to make it to your reservation. Most restaurants will allow you to cancel within two hours of your dining window, but there are some exceptions that you NEED to know about so you don’t get charged!
When you book a dining reservation, Disney will ask you to put a card on file. This means that if you cancel your dining reservation too late or don’t show up at all, that card will be charged a certain amount for the meal. Yes, even if you didn’t go! There are a couple of reasons for this: With reservations for most Disney World restaurants in high demand, Disney doesn’t want people to make a bunch of reservations “just in case” they want to use them, and if that table goes unsold, that’s less money that Disney could be making.
Most restaurants charge a $10 per-person fee if you are a no-show or cancel less than 2 hours before your reservation time, but there are some restaurants and experiences that have a different policy than the norm. We’re giving you those details today so you don’t get caught with a sneaky charge!
Here is the list of restaurants and events that have reservations that CANNOT be modified (this means changing the time or adding/removing guests) AT ALL after the reservation has been made:
- Cinderella’s Royal Table
- Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Pre-Party
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats & Sweets
- Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise
- Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package
- Spice Road Table Fireworks Dining Package
- Celebration at the Top – Sip, Savor, Sparkle
- Top of the World Lounge – multiple products
Now, you can CANCEL these reservations and try to re-book your change, but you can’t alter them. And re-booking with your desired change could be hard or impossible, so the best policy for these restaurants is to be really sure of your time and size of the party before you book.
At Cinderella’s Royal Table — arguably Disney World’s most popular restaurant — you can cancel your reservation at no charge as long as you do it at least 2 hours in advance. However, if you cancel after that time or just don’t show up for this one, you will be charged the full cost of the meal for each person in your party.
Here are the restaurants that will not charge you if you cancel AT LEAST 1 day in advance, as well as what the cost will be if you do not cancel:

Hi There! Any idea of what happens if my reservation is for 4 people, and only 2 are able to make it?
Thanks for all your great articles!!
DFB Gigi says
Hi Donna! If only 2 of the 4 make it to dinner and you don’t cancel the other two in time, you’ll be charged $10 each for those two people.
