Something is almost always under construction at Disney World. The word “change” could be Disney World’s middle name.
It’s always fun, though, to check on construction of projects like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or on restaurants we can’t WAIT to eat at like Summer House on the Lake. We’ve also been following construction projects at the hotels, too, though, and we’re headed to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to check out the latest!
Disney is building new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas at the Polynesian. We’ve been following progress on the construction since the project began. We’ve seen a large portion of the building going up in the past few months. This is what the construction site looked like in July 2023. At the time, we noticed a lot more equipment on the site.
Well, we visited recently again and noticed that the building is being extended. It looks like it’s really coming together now!
A lot of the work being done now seems to be focused on individual parts of the building — in this case, it looks like they’re working on the rooms.
We’ve been seeing a lot of cranes on site, too, while the crews work on the DVC villas. Concept art we’ve seen previously suggest that the new structure will include a variety of villa sizes, including 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom villas.
It does look like more pieces of the wall are going up, too.
Disney has not yet revealed an opening date for the villas, but we’re keeping an eye out for any more details. So stay tuned to DFB for more.

Laurel Lane says
That is really going to ruin the resort aesthetic. I’ve read reports (don’t know if true) that Disney’s DVC sales have really slowed down – so why build more? And why ruin the atmosphere at such a beautiful resort complex?
Lisa says
The Disney corporation needs to stop overloading beautiful resorts with DVC additions. It’s ruining the aesthetic and it’s potentially packing too many people in these resorts. They are starting to do the same with Fort Wilderness Cabins and it’s heartbreaking.

This sickens me, I cant even stand to look at it. Disney has sold themselves out, so long seven seas lagoon.
