Disney World isn’t all hot dogs and churros you guys, and if that’s all you’re eating, you’re doing it WRONG.
There are some truly phenomenal restaurants around Disney World property, including a variety of signature restaurants where you can try high-end offerings. You’ve probably heard of some of the most famous of these spots, like California Grill and Le Cellier, but there are other top-notch restaurants HIDING around property. And recently, we visited Disney World’s fanciest hotel to check out a spot you may have never heard of.
The Four Seasons Resort Orlando is located on Disney World property inside the Golden Oak neighborhood, but it’s not owned by Disney. It’s one of the priciest places you can stay in Disney World, with standard rooms often costing more than $1000 per night.
And along with that fancy price tag comes some very fancy amenities, including a 17th-floor Michelin-starred rooftop steakhouse called Capa. This restaurant is truly stunning, and we were recently invited out by the Four Seasons to check out its new summer wine dinner menu. Let’s talk about it!
To start, you could begin your meal with some passed tapas. The first one that was brought around is the Cerdo, which is made with beer-brined pork belly, apple butter, and pistachio jazz. This was rich and deep in flavor, and the pistachios added a nice crunch. Get this for $16.
After that, we had the Pan Con Tomate y Manchego, which is pan de cristal, tomato pulp, and manchego. This had a nice, bright flavor from the tomato. This is $11.
The first round of the meal was paired with the Capa Gin Tonic.
Next, we moved on to the First Course, which features items portioned more like appetizers. First I tried the Pulo a la Gallega, which is octopus with potatoes, boquerones, pimenton, and a black pepper glaze garlic aioli. I really enjoyed this because I’m a fan of similarly textured seafood (like calamari), but you might not be a fan if you dislike the tougher, chewier texture. On the menu, this is $19.
The second part of the first course that we tried was one of my favorite items of the night, the Croquetas! These are Cinco Jotas Jamon Croquettes with bechamel and smoked fig mustard. They were SO creamy and cheesy — I could’ve eaten them all night. These are $11.
The pairing with the first course was a Charles Heidsieck Rosé NV.
The Second Course brought along three different salads. First up was the Pipirrana with tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, pine nuts, Gran Capirete Vinaigrette, mango, and papaya. It was very fresh and bright, but you need to be a big tomato and cucumber fan to like this one. You can get it for $15.
I also had the Ensalada de Verano with bibb lettuce, artichokes, peaches, hearts of palm, pomegranate vinaigrette, and truffle honey. This is on the sweeter side, and would be a nice summer salad for fans of fruity flavors. This will cost you $15, as well.
The last item in the Second Course was the Ensalada Verde, which translates to “green salad” in Spanish. It comes with green tomatoes, apples, queso blanco, mache soft egg, and mint vinaigrette. I really enjoyed the bright and light elements of this salad, and there were several flavors that I didn’t expect to work together, but that matched beautifully. This salad is $15 also.
This course was paired with Chapirete Selection Verdejo 2021.
Finally, we come to the Third Course, including the main entrees! One of the most popular parts of the meal is the Wet Aged Ribeye — it’s 16oz and served with a black garlic puree. It was HEAVENLY. The meat had a nice chew while also melting in my mouth, and there was a great garlic flavor to match the savory elements. This is one of the pricier items on the menu at $89. (Although not the most expensive — that honor goes to the Wagyu Flight at $179!)
The Pescado is Cobia, roasted garlic tomato ragu, chicory, and summer squash. I thought the fish was nice and moist, but there wasn’t as much exciting flavor-wise here. It’s a nice crowd-pleaser option for people who aren’t maybe as adventurous. Get this for $48.
The Pollo al Pil Pil was another one of the standout dishes that I found myself reaching for seconds of. It’s free-range chicken breast, truffle mash, chayote thumbelinas, pil pil, and chicken chicharrones. That truffle mash was SO rich and creamy, and it really took the chicken to another deeper flavor level. Order the chicken for $38.
And last, in this course, we had Paella. The version that I tried was a seafood paella with shrimp and uni. The rice was soft and thoroughly seasoned, and the seafood was cooked with a nice chew to it.
The Macan Classico Rioja Tempranillo 2019 was paired with the entrees.
The Sides are listed as a separate course, but they came out with the entrees. We had Setas, which were cultivated mushrooms with caramelized onion sabayon for $16…
…Berenjenas con Miel de Cana, which was fried eggplant with molasses and sea foam for $14…
…and Esparragos, which was asparagus with chorizo jam, eggs, and beurre blanc for $14.
And last but not least, it’s time to talk about DESSERT! In my personal opinion, the BEST dessert of the night was the Churros de Madrid, which was served with chocolate and dulce de leche sauces. They were warm, soft, and thick and absolutely melted in my mouth. These were by far the best churros I’ve had on Disney World property, including the amazing ones at Nomad Lounge! These are $15.
The Pastel de Almendras y Aceite de Oliva was an olive oil cake with mixed berries sorbet and lemon cream. The sorbet was the highlight for me here, as it was very creamy and rich in fruity flavor. Perfect for summer! Get this for $15.
The Cremoso de Avellana con Cafe is a coffee meringue with cardamom cream and lemon sherbet. The coffee flavor is light, but pairs nicely with a hint of chocolate. This dessert is also $15.
For chocolate dessert lovers, I also recommend the Coulant de Dulce de Leche. It has a cajeta center, banana ice cream, and % Kidavoa Velouté. I could’ve eaten this entire treat by myself, so it’s a must for those who want something with a deep chocolate flavor. Order it for $15.
And finally, we have the Delicia Exotica. It has 33% Opalys White Chocolate, coconut sorbet, and a mango passion center. Another great option for people who prefer fruity desserts! Like the others, this is $15.
All in all, my dinner at Capa was absolutely phenomenal, and I can tell that they put a lot of care into the flavor combinations and the quality of ingredients that were chosen for this meal. There are also several other items on the menu that I didn’t get the chance to try during my visit, so make sure to check out the full selection if you’re thinking about stopping by soon. I would definitely recommend this meal to someone looking for a fine dining experience with a spectacular view. Just check out the sunset from the patio!
