While the Disney Parks are definitely magical and hold a special place in our hearts, sometimes nothing can beat a getaway with Disney Cruise Line (DCL).
While there are currently five ships that make up the DCL fleet, we’re starting to get REALLY excited because a brand-NEW ship is coming soon! If you haven’t already heard, the Disney Treasure is set to take to the seas in 2025. If you’re hoping to cruise the high seas aboard the Treasure, Disney JUST shared the FIRST sail dates for this all-new ship.
The Disney Treasure will officially set sail with guests onboard starting on December 21st, 2024! That’s earlier than Disney’s original debut date of 2025.
The Treasure’s maiden voyage will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida. The ship will have an inaugural season made up of seven-night voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members can book their spot as early as September 12th, 2023, and bookings open to everyone on September 20th, 2023.
We’re super excited to learn even more about this new ship and finally see it completed. Disney shared that the design of the ship is inspired by Walt Disney himself as well as his spirit of adventure.
The new ship will feature unique dining options like a Coco-themed restaurant, a Jungle Cruise-themed lounge, and a Zootopia-themed sweets shop. There will also be a Lion King-themed hub for family entertainment.
We’ll continue to keep you updated with more news on the Disney Treasure as it comes our way, so make sure to follow along for more!

Disclosure: In nearly all circumstances, Disney Food Blog writers and photographers pay full price for their own travel, hotel, food, beverage, and event tickets. We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney World to attend their media preview of the Disney Treasure cruise ship. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy. Really wish they weren’t replacing the Fantasy at Port Canaveral. The Wish is our least favorite ship and despite rumors that DCL would “fix” some of the issues on theTreasure , it’s obvious they didn’t.
At the very least, Can’t believe after all the negativity the Adults area wasn’t improved.
So glad we booked the Fantasy in 2024 before they switch them out.
