This hotel’s lobby has been looking pretty rough recently as Disney updates and refurbishes the space, but now those construction walls have disappeared, and the lobby area is looking better than ever!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort lobby has been under construction for refurbishments, and we were worried that the project wouldn’t be finished in time for the resort’s annual GIANT gingerbread house. But when we stopped by the hotel recently, we got a big surprise!

The lobby is looking back to normal! Those construction walls are completely gone from this area. Here’s a picture of the lobby now…

Previously, there were lots of construction walls, wood, and other materials covering the floor, and tarps all over the space.

Note that there’s still lots of construction happening at this hotel. From the lobby, you can see tarps covering some hallways…

…and there’s TONS of scaffolding outside the hotel.

It looks like it’ll be a while before this resort is finished with the updates and clear of construction.

Gasparilla Island Grill is still open, but you’ll have to walk through the construction zone in order to access it.

We’re so glad that the lobby cleared up well before Disney will need to start construction on that iconic gingerbread house.

The lobby looks beautiful! So glad they didn’t minimalize the decor like they’ve been doing to so many others.
Well done, Grand Floridian team! I was worried that the lobby make-over would de-theme the Grand Floridian, similar to what was done at the Boardwalk Inn.
Is it just me or does it just look like not much was even done to the lobby???

I am so excited that the Grand Floridian is slowly getting back to normal. I am hoping that by next summer all construction is complete.

Hi Ron! We haven’t heard any news on when or if 1900 Park Fare will reopen. We are constantly keeping an eye on it and will definitely post if we hear anything, but as of right now, we just don’t know.
Looks great. Now if they would just bring back the evening orchestra to top it off, that would be great.
