It’s certainly no secret that Disney World is always changing.
Whether it’s a new restaurant, attraction, store, restaurant, snack, or something else — chances are there’s something new for you to see every single day. Disney just dropped a ton of news about updates coming to the parks, but those could take quite a while. We spotted some recently filed permits that could point to changes coming up even sooner — here’s what we know.
We’re taking another look at recently filed permits for Disney World to get an idea of what sort of work may be going on around the property — here’s what we found this time around.
EPCOT
EPCOT is currently going through a huge transformation, and that means there’s construction happening all around the park. But, a new permit we spotted leads us to potential updates at The Land Pavilion. It links back to Imagineering, but the description is to “install signage” at 2010 Avenue of the Stars.
Unfortunately, the permit doesn’t really get any more specific than that. For now, we’re not totally sure where this sign may be or what sort of changes are needed. If we notice any huge (or even tiny!) changes to signs in this area, you’ll be the first to know.
Animal Kingdom
Most of the permits we found this time around were for projects taking place in Animal Kingdom. First up, it looks like updates may be on the way for the Discovery River Amphitheater. We found a permit for “general construction” at an address that matches up with the “Asia Viewing Area” — or where we used to sit and watch KiteTails before Disney took it away from us. General construction could really mean anything here, but since this area has been unused for a while, we’re excited to see if anything comes of this permit.
Another permit we spotted matches the address for Creature Comforts and the First Aid Center of the park! This one is also listed as “general construction,” so it could really be for anything. The contractor is Maddox Electric, though, so it may just be an electrical upgrade. We’ll keep an eye on whether it may be work done at Creature Comforts or the First Aid Center in case it impacts your trip.
Last but not least — DinoLand, U.S.A. might see changes sooner than we had originally thought, even if they’re minor. A permit was filed to do some “ride path railing repairs” at TriceraTop Spin in this area. Faden Builders is the listed contractor, so it’s possible that this project may impact the ride. If it’s impacted by closures, we’ll let you know!
We’ll be keeping an eye on more permits that could clue us into future Disney World changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
